I’ve been having my wife shave my back with an electric trimmer for years. It’s both irritating and a chore just to nail her down to do it. The hair is patchy and at the base of my neck and on my shoulder blades. Recently while us being apart on business. I was in Florida, spending time on the beach. I set an appointment for a waxing (cost of $66.00, plus tip, probably $75.00 total). I googled, back hair removal and this came up. I figured for about half of the cost of one waxing I’d give it a shot. got it in two days. I used it dry. In 10 minutes my back was a smooth and hairless as a baby’s bottom. Can’t believe I went this long without this contraption. Get it! You won’t be sorry.

This product works and it doesn't cut up your back. Nice right? My main gripe is that the blade essentially houses 3 very cheap blades inside of a plastic enclosure. They're not replaceable. So you have to buy the entire unit. That's a lot of product waste as the blades don't last long as they easily rust.

I have thick, coarse hair and sensitive skin. I'm prone to both nicks/cuts and razor burn, which is why I normally stay away from manual blades. I'd been using a Norelco electronic body groomer razor. It couldn't easily reach parts of my back, and it painfully pulled on the hairs. The result was a lot of red, sore skin and about half the time I realized I missed some hair.

After a particularly uncomfortable back shave with my Norelco, I reluctantly ordered the baKblade 1.0, partly because the price was down to $25. The reviews citing that guys cut up their back or it didn't catch the hairs did make me skeptical going in. Still I figured for $25, I was willing to give it a try.

What a great decision! The baKblade gently shaves off hairs with no pain. I also find that I don't have to go over the same area as many times as compared to my electric shaver. Not only that, but baKblade is a closer, smoother shave. There is ZERO discomfort shaving (I use it dry before taking a hot shower and don't feel any irritation in the shower). The length of the handle makes it possible to self-shave all areas of my back, but it's mostly straight so some areas are still a bit tricky to maneuver it to get to the hair. Also, I shave the back of my neck more frequently with my electric face razor and the baKblade didn't catch any hairs. It might work better if I let the hair grow out more.

For the people cutting themselves, I have to think that they are applying A LOT of pressure. I don't press it into my back at all. Instead, I very gently glide it along my back against the grain of how the hair grows. It doesn't feel like there's a razor on my back, but it does the job so that's a good thing. I've also only tried it after about 3-4 weeks of growth. If you're trying to use this every couple days to maintain a completely hairless, smooth to the touch back, then maybe that would cause more irritation too as it seems to do good when the hair is a bit longer.

Overall, this is by far the best self-use back shaving solution I've tried.

Being 60 years of age got this bushy gray hair on my back. Bought the item to at least thin it out. During a shower used the item like instructions said. Really could not see how it was working till I made a thought of going down chest. Cut a clean road down chest which made me have to shave the entire area. Hair was gone on back. I do suggest using in shower if hairy. It cut alot of hair. Worked better than expected .

The overall concept makes it easier to shave my back. I like that it works in AND out of the shower. However, I'm not a big fan of the blades that attach on. The blade works well after 1-2 sessions, but then it removes NO hair and doesn't shave after that. I wish the blades were higher quality and lasted longer considering how pricey they are.

Have thrown this thing in the garbage and bought the BroShaver which I love. I can buy the blades for that one anywhere and it cuts wayyyyy better. I was on the fence about both the two when I bought this one and I wasted my money on this one. Like many others say the blades don't last very long. The second time you use the blade you notice immediately. Then you are forced into buying their expensive replacement blades. The last order there was a blade which was dull as can be and I had to chunk it and use the one I had just put in the garbage. Don't buy this crap.

I'm regretfully editing my review to 3 stars. After using it for some time now I am very annoyed by how little use you get out of one blade. Like others have mentioned you really only get one use out of a blade set and for the price this gets very expensive. I love the product with a fresh blade don't get me wrong! But man I wish they lasted longer. I was hoping to use this every day but I don't since I want the blades to last. Oh well. I may try the competitor that you can change the blades out with the less expensive blades. I'm still going to leave my old review below exactly as I wrote it.

Wow! Get it!! This thing is the real deal. If you're reading these reviews because you aren't sure if it works and have a hairy back....add to cart and buy! I have no idea what the negative reviewers were doing but you'd have to be an idiot to use it wrong or cut yourself. I just used it for the first time and like it said I used dry and the hair came off effortlessly. It actually does feel good using. I have used the disgusting Nair, all the other creams, waxed, and have been using the stupid ManGroomer lately but it cuts me up and leaves stubble. This left my back SMOOTH! I wish I would have had this for the last 20 years for sure. This is a game changer for me. I'm going to do like so many others and as soon as I am done with this review I'm going to order replacement blades because I certainly don't want to run out.
