Here's the trick for all you other non-mechanics: You have to take out the side lenses to access the bottom bolt for the headlights. So, pop the plastic rivet with the philips head, force it up about 1/3", and unscrew it, it will loosen the plastic filler rivet and come out. Then tug forward, you might have to argue with it a little bit. I put in new headlight bulbs, (Do it while the housing is out, it's easier to place the bulb without touching it. The connections all snapped right in. (I also had one top corner bolt not come out because the plastic connector screw was spinning, I wedged it with a friangular file to hold it and get the bolt out.) I'm glad I youtubed it because I was about to drop it off to a mechanic and pay them to install it.

The replacement lights with dark background look great on the truck and were a close match to the factory original fit, but here is the problem. Four months post install I'm at the car wash (two days ago) and notice that water sprayed on the passenger side blinker assembly is going "inside" the light assembly. The truck has not been in any type of collision so there is obviously a factory defect with the product. I figure no problem, I'll contact the seller and I'm sure they will send me a replacement blinker assembly. Instead, I receive a long detailed reply telling me that I should seal the assembly with silicone caulking. At this point I'm thinking that someone is either having a little fun with me or really doesn't know what they are talking about, so I reply that this isn't a leaky shower, it's a headlight assembly that should function free of defects for many years and that I want the blinker assembly replaced. Next day I get a response stating that the four month old product is out of warranty and I'm on my own.
I'm 100% positive that this issue was present at install, I simply hadn't noticed until the spay wand at the car wash showed me the problem. I am very surprised and disappointed that Akkon did not replace this product as I was expecting a completely different response from them. My suggestion is to choose another seller as factory defects on replacement parts like this are not super uncommon, and knowing that a reputable seller would replace the part and resolve any discrepancy with the distributor as is commonly done in the auto parts industry.
Otherwise, the product looks really good on the truck BUT if it is defective (and won't be replaced) then no amount of looking good really matters because the product needs to function. Given the amount of water that was entering the assembly when the sprayer was applied to it I don't expect the unit to last once the rains start again in the fall.
You will need a few metric wrenches and a screwdriver to accomplish the replacements.
The end result is a new looking front end.
Now I only wish I could find a chrome air dam to fit under the front bumper to make the front end look thicker and taller like todays modern trucks.
5 stars. Love the look.
