Product Description

Why Ka-Bar?
KA-BAR Knives produces high quality knives for hunting, fishing, recreation, military and law enforcement. Originally a Union Cutlery Co. trademark, KA-BAR rose to prominence with the introduction of the United States Marine Corps Fighting/Utility during the Second World War. Founded in 1898, the company is based out of Olean, NY.
The Tactical Spork, which is made from food and water approved Grammid, is equipped with a fork/spoon combo and has a 2.5" plastic serrated knife in the handle. The knife is accessed by pulling the spork in opposite directions from each extreme end. **Hint--avoid gripping the flat panel area in the middle of the Spork--this is actually part of its lock. The tighter you hold here, the more difficult it will be for you to pull out the knife! **
The Tactical Spork is 6.875" overall and has a blade length of 2.5". It weighs 0.1 lb.
Additional Features:
•Super high dense polymer plastic.
•Heavily serrated.
•Extremely light weight.
•Pretty durable and worth every penny.
•Sharp Knives .

It seems that everyone makes a spork nowadays. Plastic, titanium, zinc, aluminum, stainless. You name it, they've made it into a spork. Sporks have been around since the late 19th century. Now, even Ka-bar makes a spork.Being a Former Marine and Ka-Bar fanboy I just had to have one or two. You never know when you need to hunker down and kill off a can of spam while hunting zombies to replenish your internal engine. This spork is made from Grilamid FWA, a high-strength, technical polymer. It's food safe and UV resistant. Apparently the plastic is made by the same company that makes Grivory plastics, which is common among knife manufacturers, especially Ka-Bar.The spork is lightweight with a proper fit & finish. I detected no burrs or excessive mold marks. Removing the knife was easy provided you grab the spork towards both ends and not the middle. There was no wobble or excessive movement when the spork was in it's closed position. The knife does a decent job cutting beef, chicken, and spam. It's a bit short to get any leverage when making long cuts in a steak as I had to place my index finger along the top spine of the blade. The blade is too narrow for spreading jams or butters, the spork end worked better. The spork, itself, works adequately enough. The tines are short and somewhat dull. I found that sharpening them up with a bit of emery board worked wonders. The bowl of the spoon is small for liquid soups, but works well on stews and beans. Traditionally, sporks have never worked well on soups. Drinking soup from a can, canteen, or cup/mug always works the best.Clean-up is easy. The plastic should handle temps up to 60°C. Safe for dishwashers, but the spork is light and might fly around.All-in-all, this is a decent spork. It's light and packs well. The plastic is very tough and should hold up better than a metal spork. Although the knife works, it's best to use your EDC knife along side the spork. While there are many choices for sporks, this is one of the better ones. It's all-inclusive in one small, lightweight package. Using the knife against zombies is just and added bonus.

It's cool but not perfect. The spoon shape could be better (wider & flatter) but other than that it works well. I keep it in my brief case as I eat on the go often. The knife works rather well.

There are other tactical sporks - but nothing this cool

Having relied on the Ka-Bar Tactical Spork for over three years, I can attest to its durability and convenience as a multi-functional utensil. Designed for outdoor enthusiasts and practical users alike, this spork has served me well in various situations.

One of the standout features of the Ka-Bar Tactical Spork is its durability. Constructed from sturdy plastic, it has withstood the rigors of outdoor adventures and everyday use without showing signs of wear or damage. Whether I'm enjoying a meal on a camping trip or using it for lunch at the office, this spork has proven to be a reliable companion.

In terms of convenience, the Ka-Bar Tactical Spork excels with its compact and lightweight design. It easily fits into backpacks, lunch bags, or pockets, making it ideal for on-the-go use. The integrated knife adds versatility, allowing for easy food preparation or cutting when needed.

However, there are a couple of drawbacks worth mentioning. Firstly, the knife blade isn't as sharp as one might expect, given its plastic construction. While it serves its purpose for basic cutting tasks, it may struggle with tougher food items.

Secondly, the prongs on the spork are relatively short, which can make it challenging to spear larger or bulkier food items. This limitation can be frustrating when trying to use the spork for more than just scooping or cutting.

Despite these drawbacks, the Ka-Bar Tactical Spork remains a practical and reliable utensil for outdoor enthusiasts and casual users alike. Its durability and convenience make it a worthwhile addition to any camping kit or everyday carry setup. However, potential buyers should be aware of its limitations regarding knife sharpness and prong length. Overall, while it may not be perfect, the Ka-Bar Tactical Spork gets the job done with reliability and convenience.

Spork is great for more solid things like snags or steak, even stew, but not so great on ramen noodles, tines aren't that long so noodles keep falling off unless you shovel them in like there's no tomorrow. Knife has sharp serrations making slicing up steak easy. If your saving weight and space this is perfect. If traveling on a plane pack in check in luggage because of knife.
