I just bought this truck, and it is in need of new tires. Tires on it are 265/75R16's. I have the receipt from ORW for the 1.5" lift, so that is documented.

What size tires have you been able to put on your stock Tundra 4x4? Anyone with around a 2" lift that could answer the same question?

Also, if I do upsize the tires, is there an easy method to correct the speedometer for the increased tire diameter?

To the best that I can tell, and as referenced in the thread that Professional Hand Model referenced above, there are a lot of variables. I have an 01 AC 4x4 with a leveling kit (1.5 - 2-inch lift). I went with 16 inch Tacoma Wheels, 1.5 inch wheel spacers (to get the tires to clear the upper control arm), and 285/75/16 BFG All Terrain T/A KO2s. I put them on yesterday and have not experienced any rubbing as of yet. When parked, I can turn full lock and nothing is hitting. I really dig the look.

In the same thread, another poster expressed that with the same configuration, he has trimmed the bumper and mud flaps and still has a lot of rubbing.

It seems the safest tire size is 275/75/16.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Here is my rig.

Another vote for 285/75/16. My all time favorite tire, I believe it has the most perfect ratio of height, sidewall, and tread.

    Looks very proportional

Glad its worked for you. Those are the best size tires for our trucks. 2000-02.

I think your spacers are the key to no rubbing, as my rub is very slight. The truck turned like a tank pre bigger tires so I don’t cut it hard anyways.

Any chance on putting up a different angle pic so we can see how the tires look with your 1.5” spacers?

Ask.... and you shall receive... at least... more pics that is.

The first 3 are drivers side at full lock to the right with the last showing the front clearance from inside the well, the next 2 show the passengers side at full lock to the right and the clearance at the rear of the tire from in the well, the next four attempt to show how far outside of the fender the tires are riding, the next show the spacing from the UCA with the tires straight, and lastly... just my fav pic of how they make my truck look.

I want to clarify a couple of things - (1) I haven't really had much time to drive my rig since I installed the spacers, wheels, and tires, so it is possible that I just haven't experienced rubbing.... yet. I will keep you all posted. (2) I did run into a minor situation in which the front studs are shorter than the rear studs. This causes the lugs that hold the spacers in place to not bite as much of the stud as I am comfortable with. I am working on a fix (installing a bit longer stud). Again, I will keep you all posted. (3) I have no experience with wheel spacers. I did extensive research here and by talking to both of my longtime mechanics. to be honest, opinions were split down the middle. Of my 2 mechanics, one swears by them and the other is dead set against them. That seems to be the consensus here as well. The only real difference is that it seems that the people that hate them have never tried them and the people that love them have. It seems that the few horror stories I have found are of those who purchased the cheapest spacers they could find on eBay, and didn't follow the instructions that go with running spacers. I really really like the look of these OEM wheels with the BFG's... enough to try the spacers with the guidance of my mechanic.

Looks good. Is that the Toytech BOSS kit? Can you please post some better pictures? I've pretty much decided on the same kit.

So I'll throw in my 2001 Tundra AC Rwd stock height running 285-70-17 BFG Kos w/ spacers not adapters, for 10yrs... I wouldn't tell others to do this, but just sharing what I did... I can only turn the steering wheeling 1 full cycle in forward/reverse... This setup rubs, and you have to be very mindful when approaching turns... I tested the waters with the biggest tires on stock height... Next, I'm putting 35's on my 2011 Tundra stock height...
