While searching through threads I have noticed many saying "which type of lift depends on what you're going to be doing in your truck" I use it as my every day drive and on a farm. I plan on getting some Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires but want to get a small lift so I can get 35" tires. Whats the smallest I can go in order to get that desired tire size? Also how durable is the lift?

You only need 3" to fit 35s. Bilstein 6112s will get you over 2" lift, add @Coachbuilder1 shims to get to 3". They're great on and off road. Alot of people running then here. Then go up from there to toytec, ome, icon and kings are top of the list.

Get coilovers if you’re driving on a farm. Spacers will be rough going through the fields or on any off road you’re driving on to get work and chores done.

Most durable way to go. Just stick with bilstein, icon, Fox, king, Toytech Boss.

You can fit 35’s on just a level in the front, it depends on the wheel offset too

Is the toytec boss coilovers a front lift only? I want both front and rear to be level.

Depending on how high you went in the front. You can use new shackles, block or a add a leaf in the back

My questions may seem novice and that’s because they are. I’m not a mechanic or know anything about vehicles outside basic vehicle knowledge that most of your kids probably understand.

Believe me I’m not a mechanic either. I learn from researching in this forum. Most of the time when someone goes level they do 3 inches in the front and one in the rear. You can technically get away with 2 inches in the front and nothing in the rear but you will most likely have to trim your wheel well more to fit those tires. If you went with a 3/1 those 35s would fit fine and you just would need to take off the front mudflaps behind the fog lights

OP, you don’t have to lift the rear. I have king shocks all the way around and the front is raised to level with the back, my rear has no lift and it is leveled. Gonna put on some 35’s in a few months.

@NFSTundra yes coilovers in the front, regular smooth body shocks in the rear. Got them on at 40k miles now close to 70k miles and I love them, no leaks, been speeding through the desert many times and they’ve performed awesome with a controlled and comfortable ride.

@NFSTundra just for your reference of what mine looks like. I have fox coilsovers in front and fox shock in the rear. This give me about 2.25 lift in the front for my 295/70R18 tires to fit and rear is the original height.

Looks great! How much trimming did you have to do if any?

It all depends on your wheel offset. Icon makes wheels that lets you fit 315/70r17s without any lift at all, just remove the mud flaps. The new rebound wheels are the same too.

Thank you. Nice truck. That may be something i look into. This is what i have stock for reference. Current tires are 275/65R18. So if i am understanding correctly, I just get new coilovers to replace these fronts i won’t have to do anything to the back to make it level and get larger tires?

@jwl019 i removed front mud flaps and front liners but still just barely rubbed in reverse. After 1500 miles it’s fine now.

@NFSTundra i believe you do have to install either 1’ block or a shackle to make it perfectly level. Mine does have a little rake from the front. Future plan is to install a shackle from coachbuilder and for you to fit 35” tires you going to need body mount chop.

You can order them as just the coilovers, or you can order as a complete lift from Toyteclifts.com. I believe the rear options are either blocks or shackles, I highly recommend the latter.

Won’t he need a Body Mount Chop with a 35 tire? Everything I’ve seen requires a BMC in a tire that size with a 3 inch lift. I’m running 33s and I can’t fit my finger in between the metal and the tire at full turn. My current size tire doesn’t rub but I’m sure a 35 would and I’m on a 3 inch icon lift.

Its quite possible he will, but a CMC isn't a big deal. Its less likely if he goes with a 295/70R18 rather than a true 35x12.5, but the alignment and wheel offset does play a factor.

Ill likely get some new wheels as well. Would like to stay with 18’s. I guess a 34” tire would Sufice as well. I would say for tires and wheels i would want to keep it to 2k or under. As far as lift, probably around the same price range. Preferably under. Offset is just how much your tire sticks out right?

yes sir. don't quote me but I think stock wheels are like a +60 offset...go with a +25.. that seems to be the sweet spot and theres a ton of 18 inch options out there in that offset. to run a 35, there will be some trimming needed... front bumper for sure, and most usually a bmc (body mount chop) sounds like a big deal but its not...sometimes you can get away without it, sometimes you cant.. every truck is a little different. that being said, id honestly go with the above post. do a Bilstein setup (6112\5160) thatll level the truck out pretty nicely, and do an 18inch wheel with a +25 offset, and do a 295/70/18 tire. that's a solid setup that you can beat on, on the farm and ride like a caddy on the roads. @tbrown has this setup and hes been ripping it up with it.

I originally had 35’s on with +18 offset on a 3” lift no bmc needed. Just removed flap and trimmed 1” off the front well piece behind the fogs
