Glad you're so supportive. I don't think I'd even support myself given how much debt I'm in currently haha. Degrees are getting pricier and pricier these days. After some calculations, my Degree I have on the wall is worth about $2500 per square inch

The 4Runner, no question. I had a 2010 4Runner, which was the first year of the Gen 5. I had that truck for 6 glorious, problem free years, and traded it in at 98,000 miles. I owned a 2016 Tacoma after, and rapidly grew to hate that truck. The whole time I missed my 4Runner. Now I'm in my Tundra and I love it, but overall I'd have to say it's a dead heat with the 4Runner for vehicle closest to my heart. If the 4Runner could have had the iForce 5.7....now that would be the best vehicle ever.

    The new Tacomas look awesome.

That's literally the only nice thing I can say about them after owning one for 2 miserable years.

Really appreciate all the comments guys! Judging by the 97.6% vote for the 4Runner, we went to the dealer after work today and put an order in for the 4Runner TRD Pro for $57 000 CAD in white. Will upload some picture if anyone is interested in 4Runners here in the Tundra forum?? I'm pretty tempted to trade my truck in for a PRO...a little jelous of the wife's car now haha.

There’s so many of us lol. If they made a Taco with a V-8 I think I’d trade my Tundra in for it.

I was going for the TRD Pro Taco myself before the Tundra but my head was hitting the A-Pillar and the backseats were barely big enough for my dog

I have had 5 Toyota mini-trucks and two full size SUV's and numerous 1/2 and 3/4 ton pickups and for me the 4Runner would not be a choice with the new ones that lost cargo space. When I was looking for a new SUV I waited to see what the 2019 4Runner would have in terms of interior space as nearly all the SUV's have added a third row seat that kills the cargo space. A Subaru SUV has more cargo space than a Chevy Suburban for god's sake.

I go with small pickups over small SUV's as I can add a camper shell and have a huge cargo space available. My dogs also preferred the truck after adding a rubber bed mat for them. Nice also after getting back from the beach to be able to pull the mat and hose out the bed.

When Toyota started putting in more powerful engines (that do nothing to improve off-road performance) and the miles per gallon got to be less and less I switched to a full size pickup with a lot more usable cargo space in the cab and in the box.

The Subaru SUV's that provide real world 30 mpg at 70 MPH and have a good deal of ground clearance and AWD are a better choice for many people. For me the new SUV is a Traverse with AWD that has more cargo space than any other SUV sold in the USA. It also provides 22 mpg around town and over 30 mpg on the highway and a smoother ride than my Mercedes coupe.

Might be because of new safety/luxury stuff but I do think most newer cars/truck are small on the inside compared to the outside. An old Chevy Silverado had the same amount of room as the current ones but has the footprint of a current "mid-sized" truck. Too much fluff going into vehicles nowadays

V8 Taco is probably going to be a far fetched dream. I don't think there's anyway that's happening given the Range has a turbo V4. I'm sure you can do an engine swap if you're a real gearhead and can reorganize the engine bay as well as link together the other components...

Had a 2017 4Runner with 3rd row. It was pretty much useless - maybe a couple of small kids could fit comfortably but it was a PITA to get back there. I tried to use the 4Runner as both a gear and people hauler.

I liked the 4Runner but ended up with a Lexus RX350 and my 2019 Tundra. Lexus hauls people very comfortably and the Tundra hauls everything else.

I looked at a Taco before buying my Tundra. It was good size for me but forget hauling older/chunky people in the back. The 4runner should have more room and it's very capable.
