Been searching through the forums and seen a lot of not happy with the Winjet or Spyders. I’m in the market for some smoked tail lights, what do you guys recommend???

Tint them or use a tint spray.

hey man, I did VHT tint on my tails and my 3rd break light. This shit basically stains the lens, but it came out awesome IMO. take some 1500-2000 grain sandpaper to your lights to get the clearcoat off, then apply light coats as needed. did all lights in about 20-30 min. just a thought if not wanting aftermarket

I bought aftermarket OEM style and filled them with GTR Leds from Headlight Revolution... I actually like the OEM reverse light location and reflector design, when filled with high power LEDs the throw light like headlights!

I didn’t do the heads cause I have smoked spyders. But no clear coats! I know it sounds weird, but my buddy put clear on his, and it made them foggy looking and dull. I just did about 2-3 good coats and they still look awesome. Been about year now and still holding up

Thanks, I thought the same thing. Patience and light coats, cause once this stuff is on, it doesn’t come off lol you can still see the brake lights at night like the tint is not even there

There is another style I liked, not Winjet or Spyder (looked kinda like newer Denali tails) but the questionable build quality of the integrated leds scared me away. Plus Im into a whole "as close to OEM" thing with my mods lately. No wild suspentions, wheels, giant tires, gawdy aftermarket bling for me...just trying to update and improve the truck to where I think Toyota should have had it when new.
That's why my first mods where 2018--up OEM Led conversion, along with every other buld on the truck.

Depends on how crazy you wanna go. I opened my stock lights and color matched the chrome. Also took some DMotos and color matched those. Be different!4E9E20B3-6AC8-494B-9F0E-4211510FC4E4.jpg8289188A-D79B-460F-8555-EAA28BDB9AD4.jpg

Those look strong! I bought them as well but didn’t do the Sinister so they are much clearer... now I’ll need to tint them myself. I do really like the style and look of them though.
