Looking for a decent set of over the ear headphones sub $100 to take on bike rides and to the gym. Not looking for $300 Bose noise cancelling setups...any suggestions/recommendations?

Sony MDR-7506 Professional are pretty good in my world. About $100 if you don't want to price shop too hard. Less than $75 if you're willing to shop hard and be patient.

I bought Bose four years ago cuz my wife wanted them. What a horrible use of my money.

This is a great deal. I shopped for my set for around 6 months and paid just under $200. These are great headphones. I'm a bit of a headphone collector and these are my favorite, especially for under $200. At under $100 they are a steal.

I’ve got a pair of $35 Bluetooth headphones from Amazon. Simple, comfortable and convenient. I use them for my bike rides and yard work.

Stay TF away from Beats shit. Haven't had a pair last longer than 6 months of easy use when I fly. Only bought $300 and up but they always made up some sort of abuse excuse to dodge warranty. It was always a speaker cutting out and they were kept pristine.
Other than that, I can't help you as I always spend too much.:anonymous:

Beats powerboats wireless things. Love not having wires and how they wrap around my ears so the don't move when running.

Beats are garbage, I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem. I've gone through 3 sets of solo 3 , one the speaker would cut out and the other 2 snapped at the hinge. Quality over ear headphones would be tough to find below $100 saying that they are also garbage at $300.
Check out monster or skull candy for some less expensive headphones with good reviews and stay away from beats.

It's interesting both of you say they suck, for work out headphones I've been really happy with them. no issues. However, sound quality is not their strength I will say that. Bit as far a reliability, I must have gotten a good pair cause they haven't failed after more than a year and almost daily use

I have the Beats by Dre. I’ve had these ones for probably 2-3 years without issue. This is the only earbuds I’ve ever had that I have this managed to break in a year or less.

Sometimes you have to pay to play.

When you buy some of higher end Beats for >$499 only using them on flights and the speaker cuts out after a few months.....AND THEY DENY WARRANTY......Never again...................After the 3rd pair:anonymous:
I have a set of Westone earbuds that were >$999 that are awesome. 7 drivers a side. My airplane headphones are Sony WH1000-XM3. For the price, they are much better than anything Beats.

Aftershokz from Trekz. I have the Air version. Hands down the best headphones I've ever used. So far I have almost a year of near daily 8 - 10 hours of use in a welding shop on mine. Still functioning flawlessly.

I bought these on sale last year and was really impressed. I needed a cheap pair to use while on my tractor and now they have slowly become my go to headphones

I have been using these 3 days a week at the gym since January and they are great. I do high intensity stuff and sweat a ton in them and just wipe the ear pieces off afterwards. This is my second pair of "cheap" headphones and I will never buy any for more than about $30. The other pair still work fine the top piece just cracked from getting smashed in my backpack.

Beats have gotten a LOT better in the last few years. I'd definitely recommend powerbeats 3 for workout headphones.

On-ear is a terrible idea for anything sweaty. I have some old Jaybirds that are still working so I haven't had to replace yet.

Yes I haven't heard any negative reviews on the beats earbuds and I believe if you watch you can get a good price on them. Over ear is a whole different story for me.

Mine worked great up until around the 1.5-2 mark then just started breaking down. They are used daily and the last 2 pairs snapped at the hinge. The first was under an extended warranty deal and the replacement that broke wasn't. I found replacement parts on the internet and going to piece them back together since beats told me they would warrant them for $400 lol

I understand and agree the whole "you gotta pay to play" but for me, this isn't one of those cases. I don't take my workouts or my music serious enough for it. If I buy something that does the job for sub $100 it still saves money over paying $300+ for something that has been said to only last a couple to a few years. That's money I can put into the Tundra haha

I've never tried the in-ear buds with the little "headband" attached, but these look like they may work. Thanks!

I know it's a terrible idea for sweat but with all the damn in-ear buds I have tried that never stay in place I feel I have no other choice.

I've got an older pair of these guys. For under $30 I can't complain since I've had them probably 3 years.

i use a pair of Mpow's pretty much daily at work, then take them home and detail the truck in them and cut grass in them. not the same exact as these, but very close. Comfortable, clean sound, and like he said....wipe sweat away and keep going

I don't understand why you guys think on ear is a terrible idea for sweat? The pad that touches your face is the only thing that gets wet and they are so much more comfortable and sound better than in-ear. I made the switch after wearing in-ear for 10 years in the gym, I'll never go back.

The "on ear" ones with the hook are fine for sweat, the cans are the terrible ones
