I have no experience with tundras. They seem well built and seem to make sense due to a low $20k budget only being able to purchase higher mileage trucks.

I appreciate any insight and things I should be alert for when inspecting the truck. Thanks

Sorry he took the link down I think. Below is the text from the post.

2010 Toyota Tundra Crew Max Platinum TRD. $22,700, 118,000 miles, 4x4 Like New Inside and Out. 2nd Owner. Service Records Since New. I have a car fax from day one. Non-Smoker. New Tires. New Brakes Tune up. All fluids have been done July 2018 for $3900.00 Needs Nothing. Metallic Blue. Gray Interior. No rust

He said he bought it in April, 2019 from a dealership.

118000 is low for that 2010 especially with the service records. Confused about price????

If you still have the VIN check it on toyotaowners.com, it doesn't have everything, but if it was serviced at a dealership, or the owner kept track of the records well, it will be there. At $3900, that is a screaming deal. I was looking and couldnt find any Tundras under $6000 USD. The cheap ones were 1st Gen with 300,000+ miles on them.

$3900 sounds like a scam to me, unless he's missing a 1 infront of that price.

Heck, even at $13,900 that is a really good deal for a 2010 Platinum. I would definitely verify the price, and see the truck before buying anything. In my area that truck should go to for $19,000, if everything is as stated.

im in socal, and just bought a 2013 CM 5.7 with 93k in damn near perfect condition for $21,600....from a dealer no less. 22,700 seems high to me for 2010. But again, im in socal.

Seems high. Paid 19k for a 2010 with 61k on it. Flawless, 2 owners both in so-cal all service records. 2wd sr5 with tow package, leveled on methods and 33” toyos. Think the trim level is bumping yours up but with those miles I would think 20k would seem more realistic. Is it 4x4?

Ahhh. well, maybe not so bad then. Id say if you can get to 21k that would be pretty solid. but you might have trouble getting him down if he is asking for what he needs to pay off his loan...

Seems to be asking full retail kind of price. Probably what he owes.

Book out on NADA and or Kelly Blue Book. I would not pay more than given values.

That’s the blue book for the platinum in great or excellent condition. He says there is zero rust, which maybe would put it on the high end of the range?

He is at least $1-2K high. He is trying for retail. He will have trouble selling at his price. It may take him a while to figure it out. As mentioned, probably upside down.

Your bank will only loan you $20-21k more than likely. Use this to your advantage. It may be very nice but it is not wise to overpay.

Make sure it’s not hiding any codes. Maybe see if he’ll let you drive it around town for a little bit. Make sure the transmission is shifting properly and it doesn’t go into limp mode because of AIPs or something else wrong with it. Sometimes if the code goes off someone will unplug the battery or clear the code and it won’t come back for a little while. If everything seems legit it sounds like a pretty decent deal. If it’s really that immaculate.

Looks nice, the hard tonneau bed cover is worth a $1k new.

    He should be negotiable $300-500.

It does seem odd that he spent $3900 on fluids to be changed out. But maybe he’s a sucker

My guess is all this was done within that price. At least i hope so. That would seem more like it from a dealer.

"New Tires. New Brakes Tune up. All fluids have been done July 2018 $3900.00 Needs Nothing"

tires+brakes+fluids ??? i would believe that if done at a toyota dealer? 1000 for tires, 800min for brakes?, plus inspection and fluids out of warranty?? seems likely.

Holy smokes, you do not have a ton of options in your area. I expanded to roughly an hour away from lansing in all directions and not getting any worthy crewmax's....this one is kinda your only option at the moment. Honestly, downsizing and potentially money in gas could be real factors to selling...if you can get a loan through a solid credit union, usually they offer warranties for pretty cheap. However, sometimes they wont finance a vehicle older than 7 years or over 100k miles. but Should be something like 1500 bucks for 40k miles or 3 years if they do offer it. Might give you some piece of mind for anything major.
