I've got a 2018 Tundra CrewMax and I'm planning to take a road trip.
I want to create a bed in back of the seats and want to see if anyone out there has ever removed (and replaced) the back seat.
    Welcome your experience and ideas.

Also, be aware of the one threaded screw that different from the rest when you put your seats back in.

Instead of removing the back seats why don’t you use something like this?

Btw, I had to remove both back seats to install my sub box and it was fairly easy. A 1-man job.

How heavy are the seats? I see some folks recommend two people, so as not to scratch anything...

They aren’t really that heavy, more awkward weight than anything. If you have a second set of hands, I’d definitely use them to avoid puncturing / scratching anything.

After the sub box install, I must have removed these dang seats 10 times!!! Just be mindful of the spike, as it will put a hole in your carpet.

Thanks! I have a load of Noico to install and a new OEM Audio+ system to throw in this weekend, and will get the wifie to help me get that rear seat out w/o damaging anything.

It's been a while since I've had to remove mine, but I believe it's the 60 bench seat's front facing middle screw. You'll notice the difference as only one screw has a wider thread pattern than the rest.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help but I promise, you'll notice the difference when you're taking them out.

Just removed my rear seat for Wet Okole install. The bolt that’s different on mine is on the 60 seat that is the passenger rear most bolt. Not a bad job to remove and install but I hope I don’t have to do it again just to put on seatcovers.

Get some help for the 60 side. It can be done by yourself but, no sense in scratching or ripping your truck up. Don't ask me how I know this.:anonymous:

I did it myself 75% of the time, (3 outta 4), taking out and putting back, first for sound deadening, second for installing my OEM Audio+ system. It can be a one man operation, if you take your time.

How did you end up liking the OEM Audio+ system. I think that’s the one with the subwoofer under the seat right? Any rattling or extra noises from the plastic enclosure?

I love it! The subwoofer actually bolts to the back wall of the cab, on the drivers side, to a fixed nut that Toyota puts in as part of the build. No rattling at all, the only thing I hear from back there is when I have had riders in the back seat, and the seat belt wasn't put back in that little clip on the sidewall of the cab. I soundproofed my doors and back wall before I pout the system in, and it's pretty sweet!
