I have a 2019 Platinum. As delivered, when you turn off the ignition the seat moved back and the steering wheel moved away from you (door mirrors also move - not fold in).

I found a menu item to deactivate the seat movement, but the steering wheel still moves.

Anyone know how to deactivate the auto steering wheel movement at startup and shut down ?

    Thanks

I believe that’s an option in techstream.

Yes, it's in TechStream. The movement of the steering wheel and the seat upon startup and shutdown were the first two changes I made.

What is techstream, where do I find it, and how do I use it ?

    More questions than answers :)

Just found a youtube video on it - pity these functions were not built into the vehicle

Looks easy to use but a wide spread of products and pricing on Amazon. Is there a preferred source for this ?

So there are plenty of posts on how to download and install techstream. BUT you still need a cable.

I went this route: LZLRUN Mini Vci Interface for Toyota J2354 Tis Techstream Diagnostic Cable Toyota Firmware V1.4.1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XGB714M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_fLwJDb0QZFHTP

I was able to get software and cable for a great price. I couldn’t use the software so can’t vouch for that since I have a MacBook Pro (TechStream is windows only) but the cable worked and I had to jump through hoops to get TechStream to work on my MacBook.

I tried to contact you directly about how you got this to work on your Mac but it says I couldn't. If you would be so kind and contact me to discuss further that would be great, Thanks in advance for your time.

No worries. For others wondering, it's a lengthy process of jumping through hoops for a piece of software. But when all you have is a macbook, I made it work. Essentially you are running windows through an app, then installing techstream onto that virtual windows.

    https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/how-to-run-techstream-on-a-mac.962624/#js-post-10702945

    It worked great.

For those that are not tech savvy, save yourself a headache and just buy an old laptop. A 20 year old laptop running XP would probably be less than $50 or possibly free.

Definitely an option in techstream. The dealer terminated this feature for me during my 5 k maintenance. Never hurts to ask...
