I have tried searching and still not sure if I have found the right answer. I just purchased a 2015 1794 Tundra. It only came with one key, and I would like to add another key and fob. I have access to a lock shop, so I can cut my own key just fine, the problem is programming. I have read that this can be done with techstream, and that is where I am getting confused. Do i have to have the version 2 cable in order to do this, or will the version 1 cables work. And I will be doing this from a windows 10 laptop with 64bit, so do I need to purchase a certain one for that to work? Again sorry for the dumb questions.

I purchased a flip key/fob from Amazon for my 2015 G key after one set was lost. I called a mobile lock smith and he was able to cut and program it for $65. I know that you are looking for programming help, but just wanted to throw out my situation. Good luck

From the research I did a V1 cable will work for this. I could never get techstream to work on my 64bit, tried those reg edits and all that. In the end I had a locksmith program it for me

I actually have had key cut and then program g key through techstream myself. V1 cable should work. That is what I have.

I did it about 2 years ago and it was a two step process. Registration of Key and then registration of key fob. I believe i used both these videos for guidance. It's been a long time:

I am on the same boat as you are since I have the windows 10 with 64 bit. I really just need the program since I have the cable already. Hopefully someone answers this question a little better.

Well I ended up purchasing a cable on Amazon. Cut the key myself, and literally took me 5 minutes with techstream to program. Worked great!

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078VKM1G3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I used an older laptop not connected to the internet because I have read some things that seem shady about the software. I installed on a 64bit windows 10 machine and had no issues.

I purchased the truck used, so it was actually nice being able to delete my missing fobs and key that the last person kept.

I ended up purchasing cable, software, “key and fob” All cheaper then locksmith was going to charge for single key.
Thanks again for all the help guys.

Yeah, they provided decent instructions located on the zip file. Just had to make sure to install the 64bit driver first, then install software. Honestly was a 5 minute install.

I just installed this and it worked great since I was able to read everything on the truck. The key won't program though and it keeps giving me an error code. I was able to program other stuff but just the key programming won't work and I was wondering if anyone has had any other issues with it?

Yeah I believe the key is a G key and it’s the key programming I’m having trouble with.
