I’ve had thoughts of purchasing a tonneau cover to use with my truck toolbox. Anyone have this setup with success? Share your set up with pics and advice. Thanks!

Not sure if this is the type of setup you’re looking for or a cover that goes over the toolbox. I looked at doing that at first but got this cover at a great price so went with it ABF084B6-73D3-4410-8BC1-FECC8570B34F.jpg

Yes, looking to utilize both functions like your set up. How much $ and where’d you get your cover? Using the bed rail system? I’ve been looking at a roll-up type cover with the L-bracket against the toolbox. Your set up looks awesome!

I've ran 2 different tonno covers on my truck with a tool box. The first one was a soft roll up cover I cut down to fit my smaller bed. The second was a roll n lock I also cut down to fit my bed. The roll n lock is alot more secure but I lost even more bed space.Next time around I'll probably look into a combo system or a highway products pickup pack.
If you're looks for a bed cover and tool box I'd recommend the truck cover USA American work cover. I know access and extang make covers that work with pre existing tool boxes.

    k9shag,

I see you have a double cab. Extang.com makes a couple of different “Toolbox 2.0 Tonneau Cover” for 6.5 and 8 ft beds, but not the 5.5 CrewMax bed. Choices are limited for the CrewMax 5.5 beds.

It's a Truck Covers USA American Work Cover. It's pretty sweet - has a built in LED that ties into your cargo lights and can also hook up the toolbox lock actuators to work with your doors as well, so no need to use a key to lock and unlock your toolbox.

I bought their American Roll Cover off OU for $500 and then purchased the American Work Cover that has the toolbox for a F350 also on OU for $150 (just happened to randomly find it; too good a deal to pass up. Combined the two and now I have the cover I want and an extra cover that fits a F350 that i'll eventually sell. That being said, these covers aren't cheap brand new (~2.7k) but they are extremely well made. I'm local to where they are made and stopped in to get a replacement key for the toolbox. The owner came out and told me that if I ever wanted to give it a tune-up they'd be happy to do so and make it good as new.

I'd recommend this cover to anyone and they make attachments you can add if you need overhead storage.

The only leaking I have is around the tailgate in the corners. I could probably find a way to get that sealed up a little better but it isn't a top concern of mine. It's pretty tight for the most part.
