Hi, guys I am new to the page... I was wondering if I can get a quick help from one of you. I have a question. I recently bought a 2006 Toyota Tundra xsp. I wanted to know how can I check if it is an original xsp model (like for example with Vin number or anything) it was lifted and does not have the factory rims nor the side steps. It does not have the skid plate either. But it has the badges, the xsp logos on the headrest, the wooden trim. Can any body help me figure it out?

Go to Toyota dot com and search with your VIN. Or, call them...

www.toyota.com ....create an account, putting in VIN and other info required. Once created, it will have various selections you can look at....specifications of that particular veh when it was manufactured, what was factory installed and also a selection of what maintenance/recalls has been done at a Toyota service center since it’s inception, if it got recorded.

I created the account... I put the vin number and it doesn’t say about the package. What I did to see if it was that my Tundra didn’t come with the xsp package was, that I put 7 vin different vin numbers in my account (changed the vin) of tundras that where “xsp” but same thing their was no where to be seen the xsp package. The other thing that I spotted that the other xsp models have and mine is that in the door jam where the tire pressure tag is, their is another tire pressure tag below it that has the vin number on it. It’s states like if it the truck had 18” rims. I can post picture if needed Know my question is, is their any other way to verify?
by the way thanks for all the help you are trying to give me.

Wait... What did you do to your vin???

Toyota.com isnt always right anyways. They claimed my truck had a bench seat and it has buckets. Also didn't mention that I have a limited slip diff.

Iirc the XSP package is just a visual trim package installed by one of the regional toyota dealers.

For example in the south we have the TSS package. Basically it.includes LEDs, different wheels, running boards, TSS bedside.decal

XSP was a Southeast Region package only...which is it didn't show up on the Toyota website. If you call a SE region dealer and give them the VIN, they may be able to tell you...but it sounds like it was sold new like that.

And when you say “it sounds like it was sold new like that” what do you mean about it? That is original xsp or that it is not ?

Sounds like it was an original SE Region XSP package Tundra to me. I could see someone swapping in the leather interior from an XSP to a non-XSP....but the sticker for the recommended psi in the door jam for 18 inch tires is a dead giveaway...the XSPs came with 18 inch wheels which is not typical for Tundras of that year. I can't see someone going to the trouble to put that on a non-XSP.

That is what I have in the side of the door jam... as you can see it has a the trucks vin number on it.

I'm sure.it is. No reason anyone would impersonate one like they do the TRD models

    Why do you care.so.much?

Yes, I'd be surprised if it is not an original one...

Because I like the fact of it being unique. So in the Trd models they impersonate? But when they impersonate it do they impersonate it with the vin number like factory?

No...TRD is a factory option....they were available in every region from every dealer, so they have no VIN specific additional stickers. The XSP was only available from SE region dealers, that is why they have that additional VIN specific sticker for the 18 inch wheels that were part of the XSP package.

Who the hell would do that? It's not a stolen truck at a chop shop is it? Jeez.

Look man I gotta be straight with you. The XSP package is a gimmick that no one really gives a shit about. Sorry but I'm blunt and it's true. I'm glad you like it and that's what matters.
But no one and I mean no one is faking it.

Now the T3 or the Ivan Stewart editions? Maybe. But even the people that impersonate TRD Pro's likely aren't swapping VINs. That's some super illegal stupid shit. They just slap on decals and swap headlights, grills and wheels.
