I have the GB70 and it's solid. If you don't have a jumper yet, this is a good time to get one.

@ramonortiz55 i am shocked the group buy master has not done a GB for the NOCO jump starters after all these years.
For anyone wondering on the units ability, I have the GB70 in my truck and have used it several times to jump my 78 Trans Am 6.6L 400cu.in. engine that had a completely dead battery. I give it 30 seconds before i crank and it takes 8-10 seconds of cranking before it starts.
I have a GB40 in my wifes suv and my dad has the GB150 for his 7.3L diesel.
I use it as a portible light all the time and when camping as a charging station for phones.

Hey, Chris, I’ve come to view you as our forum authority on these, matchihgbthe tight one to the truck. Would a GB70 (best for my 5.7 3rd gen) be fine to use with my 4.7L 1st gen Tundra?

I would go with the GB70, larger capacity means more jump starts. I have jumped my truck and other peoples truck with it. I had to jump my truck for 2-3 days while i was waiting for my Odyssey battery arrive and it never dropped below half charged (never charged it during those 2-3 days).
I have used it to 'juice' a battery so my NOCO charger would recognize that it has a battery connected to start the battery repair charge cycle.

Think the GB40 would be enough to jump a 3 ltr diesel motor? And my 5.7 ltr? Or do I need to step up to GB70.

I have the smaller one, the GB40. I actually got it on sale from Amazon last year for about $68.59 on Black Friday. I’ve used it to jump several vehicles, including a Tahoe, a Sequoia, and the forklift at work. It’s worked like a champ and started them all up almost immediately.

Good question, you can always have more power then one needs.

As @War Machine said the GB40 will work fine to jump the truck. I lean to the side of having more power than needed to ensure i do not run out. The GB40 is rated for up to 20 jumps, but what engine was used for testing that? A tiny 4 cylinder? The GB50 would be a good compromise between power and cost.
I got my GB70 over 2 years ago from Amazon when it was a lightning deal of the day, so it was a great price.

It shouldn't affect anything with posting price as I am in Canada and excluded from the group buy, but...I was able to walk in to a local store today and pick up the GB50 for $140cad.

Glad to know they are good units. It's funny, I was browsing them om my phone and a work buddy told me about a place to buy them

haha that's what I was thinking. I could have sworn that I bought one from his GB on TW like 5 years ago. I guess it was someone else. maybe I attribute al GBs to this guy.

ive used my gb40 many many times to jump anything from cars, tacomas, my lawnmower that had a sad battery, and my gb 70 for an RV a couple of times and of course charging a bunch of items during power outages after hurricanes. I love these things. ive now gotten my parents, and in-laws one and they both love them too. simple, effective and small.

I was a believer after I bought a GB40 from Amazon. IMO, these jumpers are a must have. I don’t know how many people I’ve helped out with these. Do yourself a favor and get at least one.

Bought the gb40 acouple years ago when I had a 4.7 Tundra, worked the 1 time I needed it. Used it for my son's 5L Ford as well. I've never had to use it on my 5.7L, I do take it camping with me though, nice little light and charger.
