Did you take advantage of Advance Auto's 25% off? I saved $50 in July when Optima had all their batteries at $200! Waiting for the next sale to get another 35 RedTop.

I sort of figured that:thumbsup: I potentially can end up with two Optima's for $300! Just waiting for next Optima sale.

Optima blues make a great house back up, not only just a great marine use battery.

FYI...that %25 off doesn't really ever expire. When you try to use the current expired promo code it gives you another one that works!

Hot climates seem to be a common factor in a number of the bad reviews and it’s no surprise heat kills batteries. I’m confident enough, out of a few hundred reviews on advance.com, 93% would recommend to a friend...good enough for me.

On another note, when you’re in the market for more house batteries, check out Trojan deep cycle batteries, specifically the T-1200. It’s what Yamaha uses in their golf cars, I worked for them and around these batteries for years and they are amazing deep cycle batteries, and the heaviest, biggest. I had to modify the biggest battery box they sell to fit it in my camper.

I've been using this solo battery for around 3 years without any issues. It'd definitely better than the one that came from Toyota.

My Tundra Battery lasted from Aug 2013 till
Sept 2020.For a stock battery that was really amazing.I'm a weekend warrior. I have 2 winches hooked up.No they aren't always in use, but that being said, that Tundra Off Road (whatever battery it is made by , I was so so happy with). When that one died I opted for the Optima Yellow Top, thinking as far as an after market battery goes and running 2 winches, plus an ARB compressor.I over thought..
    I made a huge mistake.
Never will I ever goto a Gel Battery again,
unless I run that vehicle 24/7.Period.
I don't care what brand it is..
Gel Batteries are not meant for sitting period.
    They are meant for running..
If you are a logger, minor, tow truck driver, these are you goto..
Otherwise just stick with the acidic batteries.
    I hate maintenance free..
I prefer to add distilled water if needed.
The second battery I bought was the Optima Yellow (and it doesn't matter) if you are running your vehicle only a few hours a day.
Gel batteries are not going to last.
The one I have at the moment..
Gives me 12.5 Volts cold..Start it up it runs 13.8 Volts..Which is bang on considering the Alternatator is charging the battery.Turn it off and the battery immediately reads a 10Volt upon getting put of the truck and checking the reading with a Volt meter. What is astonishing about it though, is it starts up right away with no problem. But the Battery only shows 20-30% life left.
The Battery after a year and a half is almost dead.Everything is grounded properly..
My issue is, I don't run it enough.
Some of you may have better luck with the blues. But with my personal experience with the Tundra Stock Battery.I'm taking the chance on using it again..If I can get 7 years out of a battery..Hell why not..
But if you do run Optima Batteries and you are a weekend warrior.
Here is a bit of advise..Take the Battery out of your vehicle and store it..Do not do what I did ..Drive Company Vehicles all week long
drive that battery 2 days a week and expect thst battery to last..
These Gel batteries are meant to run heavy duty 24/7.They are not meant for weekend warriors..
No Gel battery is, they are meant to run run and run..I love Ultra Running, I am an Umtra Runner in real life and fuel myself with real foods and training as such.
But you do too much or too little it kills you..
Batteries are no different.Gel Batteries are the Ultra Running of vehicles..
Please understand this and save yourself.
    I learned the hardware.At a huge expense.
I'm sharing my personal experience to help you all..
These Gel Batteries are made for a reason.
Minimum Marathon Running preferred Ultra Running.
