I’m trying to decide between the red trd pro shocks or the 5100. What are the biggest differences? Has anyone run both?

I can’t speak on the Pro shocks but my 5100’s are fantastic. Way better than my stock shocks. They feel firmer but absorb the bumps better and the truck feels much more solid. I didn’t want a floaty feel. Had them on almost two weeks so far so good. Plus you can get the fronts shipped from Amazon 223 out the door. Here’s how mine sits level at 2.5 in the front. All four fenders measure 39.5

Prices is about 8 times more for Pro shocks.....ride quality is way better and the durability as well. 5100s are just a stock replacement with height adjustments

Red trd shocks are tuned for more off road application. The true TRD Pro shocks have bypass chamber allowing for less shock fade when hammering through uneven terrain. Pro shocks have 2.5 diameter tube at TRD red shocks are 2.0 diameter. Unfortunately if you don’t have TRD Pro vin you can’t purchase pro shocks. Best bet is to find a used or take off set.

I had 5100’s all the way around on my tundra. Good but stiff ride. My fox pro shocks are way better IMO

Differences are price and performance, you can speed through bumps on the pavement or off-road with the trd pro shocks, with 5100’s it will be stiff and not as cushy as the pro shocks plus they’re beefier, a 2.5 body. There’s a reason they cost a lot.

No comparison. You’re comparing Sentra to CTS-V

    you’re comparing a $150 shock to a $700 shock.

I was making the same decision recently. Another thing to consider is that the 5100s give you some "built-in" options for leveling or lifting. I have mine set on stock, but may level it later without having to buy anything else. As far as the feel, I agree with @Rockanock
