So I have been debating getting 33's for more ground clearance and better looks visually. After converting the numbers it doesn't appear I will gain much at all. I compared my tires to a 33 and 35" tire. I am sitting on a 3/2 level. I really don't want the risk of cutting to get 35's on and also emissions in Colorado wont allow a 35" tire so every two years I have to swap smaller tires out.

huh.... seems suspicious. I lived in CO for a number of years, and I never heard anyone complaining about that rule. I knew a bunch of people who ran 35-37's and they never said that they couldn't do an emissions test. is that new? do you have a link to a state run web site that shows this rule?

my first thought was that what if a vehicle came stock with 35's? how can they deny an emissions test for that vehicle?

so, it isn't really a state rule, it is that the stations that do the emissions test don't want to put 35's on the rollers. seems odd.

Read the article, it clearly says they test 35 especially since some vehicles come from the factory with 35s. Who needs larger tires in CO?

I bought 33” (275/70r18) tires and then lifted my truck after 10,000 miles. So now I’m buying 35” tires(285/75r18), so for me it wasn’t worth it.

35” are a lot more mass than 33” or 34”. Depending on your driving habits you can see a good 2-3 loss in mpg (65-80mph) just between those sizes. I had 34” then get 35” for a good deal, after two road trips I switched back to 34”. Luckily I didn’t lose any money.

If I remember, it’s the 35” can’t fit on the rollers.
You don’t need emissions every two years until I think year 7 of a new vehicle or you don’t pass one of those machines on the on-ramps

Stock tires are 32's for the 18's. A 33 such as a 275/65/18 is too small for a 3/2 level. I have pics of mine with a 3/2 and the 275/65's. I currently run 285/70/18's which is a 34. Looks alot better and more aggressive

First of all, 33s are small af, get 35s. Second of all, I've never heard issues with 35s in general, ask for forgiveness not permission IF they complain when they pull it onto the rollers. And third of all, when I lived in Colorado I rarely ever had to actually drive in for emissions because they have vans that automatically look at your truck as you drive around and will send you a slip saying you automatically passed.

Get 35s, 33s are essentially stock size.

EDIT: And fourthly, if you're that concerned about needing <35s for emissions, then you already have an undersized spare, find some take off on craigslist for $50 and now you have the two rear tires you need to do emissions.

Thanks didnt know that. I have a jeep on 37's that I was going to take it to the treadmill test this week. It was always registered in the mountains so no emissions needed. Dang now I have to get some other tires.

"worth it" is a subjective opinion.
that being said, I've been looking forward to my 285/55/20's wearing out since a week after getting them home. they just look too small on a tundra.

If you are on a 3/2 lift, I definitely wouldn't go with 33's. With 2-2.5", 33's fill it out and look fine. That's currently what I'm running.
