Wheel protectant and sealant?

Just ordered some new wheels and want to help keep them clean from brake dust and hard water(sprinklers) in between washes.
This seems to get good reviews, just wondering if anyone uses any products they recommend

 

Get them ceramic coated

 

That would be the ldea solution. Not sure that fits into my budget.

 

That stuff doesn't work well. Lasts a few weeks.

This stuff is easy to use and doesn't cost much more.

Have you used that before ir first time?

 

First time.

It was really easy to use. There are several YouTube videos on it. Watched a couple of those and jumped on it. Did the barrel and face of each wheel and then did a second coat on the face of each one.

The whole process took about 3 hours, but that included running an errand while I gave the first coat plenty of time to set (supposed to be at least one hour before second coat).

 

I just watched some videos on it too. Think I might order some. Is this the same thing?

 

Mam this thread has me thinking I should do something before my new wheels get rubber.

 

Yeah. That’s the same stuff. And that’s the place I ordered it from too.

 

It’s a whole lot easier to do it now while they’re off the truck and factory clean.

 

How long is it supposed to last ?

 

I don’t remember exactly. Seems like I saw everything from 6 months to a couple of years. I’ll probably reapply it in a year.

@dspilot how did you apply it to the "rivets" on the six speeds. Seems like it would be hard to remove

 

I just went over them with the applicator cloth just like any other surface. I initially thought the same thing, but it turned out not to be an issue.

 

Going to C Quartz my truck right after I do Chemical Guys clay bar, V36 to get out the scratches, and V38 polish with the Torq orbital. My black truck got scratches in the clear coat from one of those pay monthly automated car wash places. So there will be a weekend of detailing to this pavement pusher after pollen season is out. I would do the C Quartz on wheels every 6-12 months and the paint every two years.
