I give up. Made the mistake the first time and didn’t disconnect the negative battery cable. Replaced the fuse, same thing put the negative cable back on, cut the lights on, boom, blows the fuse... anyone have any ideas? This was supposed to be a easy plug and play relaxing mod...

Sounds like something is cross wired. I didn’t disconnect my battery when I installed mine and didn’t blow any fuses. Unplug them and do 1 at a time to see which one has a short.

I only hooked one of the footwell lights up, if that is what you are saying. I’ve tried numerous times and just quit because I blew numerous fuses.

    LED headlamps/fogs; interior footlamps.
So the circuit works Until you hook up a footwell light? If so, then the short is with the footwell light itself.

If not, then its the other way around. Let us know what you find.

@T-Rex266 installed these I believe. Might have some insight.

Try a different one. My kit came with 4 lights and extensions. If you have more than one, plug that one in. What happens if you put the factory bulb back in? Does it work?

Blowing fuses is usually a bad ground. But the lights are self contained so sounds like it has a short in it somewhere.

Here is what I did . Disconnected battery. Hooked VLEDS connector up, reconnected battery, open door or cut on lights, the trucks interior lights for a second or two, then blows the fuse. Put the normal bulb back in, no issues. The VLEDS have never lighted up. I feel like I’m missing something...

Same with my kit 4 lights and extension. Thanks for the advice, please keep it coming, it’s got dark here , so I’m into the beer for now. I’ve been sick with a chest cold for almost a week, so my thoughts may not be clear.

The socket your plugging into has very tiny little metal strips in it I would check to see if they got bent and are touching each other

Have you tried the original bulb again? If the original bulb is working without blowing a fuse, it sounds like something is shorted with the led strip. If you tried all the strips and all are blowing the fuse and the original bulb is not I would call vled and see What they say about it. Maybe they have a bad batch with something shorted or maybe you can ohm it out or something

Original bulb work. I have not tried each light strip, just the adapter plug and one of the light strips. I’ll try tomorrow with a different light strip... really was looking forward to looking like a pimp with my red floorboards...

I called VLEDS, very helpful. They are going to send me another connector. Excellent customer service! Hope this works.

Curious to know if the new lights VLEDS sent you fixed the issue. I'm considering getting this kit from them.
