I feel like this is going to be a stupid question situation. Does anyone know if the front seats in the crewmax and the double cab are the same?

Yes. But, trim levels like platinum and 1794 claims that they are more comfortable.

Thanks! Found someone with a power driver's seat I'm thinking about snatching, but he's got a crewmax and I've got a double cab. I thought they'd be the same, just wanted to make sure. I want to pick it up and have it and my other seats covered with Katzkins.

Those 2 certainly claim to have better leather..
My Limited leather is looking shabby after 5 years..

What trim level is on your truck now?
I know the SR doesn't have some of the wiring of the SR5 and up.
If you have a manual seat, make sure you have wiring plugs under the seat and they are hot to power your power seat.
My power seats move even without the key in or on.

I actually don't know what trim level my truck is. I bought it used 2 years ago. I know I've run into some wiring missing for the fog lights switch on the headlight stalk. I'm planning on getting as much of this guys wiring out of his dash as I can. I'll check for power in the plugs under the seat. If there's none, I'll see if I can snatch that too all the way back to wherever it goes. Do you know which plug under the seat handles the power? I know I've got some under there that aren't attached to anything. (I had to replace a seat belt fastener since the person that owned the truck before me disconnected everything he could that had to do with the airbags.

Keep in mind my truck is a 2014 SR5 and may be different than your 2008.

Each front seat has 3 plugs, as pictured to the left behind the amp, this is the passenger's seat with the seat out.
    Yellow - air bags
Grey - seat belt occupancy sensor, ground wires, and some other stuff my SR5 doesn't have..
White - seat power, factory seat heaters (I have aftermarket), seat memory (if I had it), probably cooled seats ( I don't have on my SR5).

The white plug on the passenger's seat doesn't have an opposing plug in the seat.
    The passenger's seat isn't power.
The white plug on the driver's seat, powers the seat.
Not sure which wire, but it is always hot as the seat adjustment works all the time.

If anything you could find an always on or run a fused line from the battery to power your seat..
Good luck and welcome to the forum...

Thank you so much for this. I've got wiring diagrams, so I think I know which pins to check. But of course, I can't figure out where I put my multimeter, lol. I'll check it as soon as I find it.
