exhaust manifold leak

I have an exhaust leak below my driver side door. I would imagine its an exhaust manifold leak. I tried using the search tool to get an idea on a fix but couldnt find anything. Whats the cost to fix this? Is it easy enough to diy? I do all my brakes and maintenance.

 

Are you sure its not a collector at the mid pipe to catback or the collector at the manifold

 

I took a look today. The leak sounds like its further from the manifold than i thought. It seems to be more midway down the truck so possibly collector to catback. I popped the hood and i could hear a ticking which may just be a 12 yr old tundra tick. When i close the hood i dont hear it i just hear the exhaust leak so not sure if thats actually anything. I will have to get a vid. Has anyone had any luck wrapping an exhaust pipe leak and using a muffler epoxy to seal a leak? Ultimately i plan to get replacement parts but i cant shell out $1000 right now on the truck.

 

Off topic sorry but where did you get your grill from ?

 

First you have to find the hole. You may get lucky and the leaks is either at a gasket junction after the header or maybe in the midpipe?

 

Not to sure i bought it like that 2 years ago..

 

Well crap I have a screen shot of it from a google search a little over a year ago when I did my grill. Min is kinda like it but not exact. I like yours alot.

 

Try to feel around the collector for air and moisture. If it has a leak it will drip condensation for sure. Or you can try the Windex method on the manfoild.

Thanks for the input fellas. We still have a foot of melting snow and my laneway is a mud pit so im going to wait a week or two let it dry up *hopefully* before i crawl underneath. I will come back to this thread and update when that time comes. Hoping i can seal it up for the time being.
