    ics-fab.com for the dash mount.

They link to 67 Designs for the phone holder. I got the one with backing plate. I drive down gravel roads in the oilfield every day, and my phone doesn't move a bit.

3-1 level kit with add a leaf. 295/70/18r cooper max. Spider head light tail light and third brake light, tint, badges off, ladder racks, trd pro grill, color matched hood bulge, grab handle, coach builder +2, dv8 front bumper with winch, fender flares, bed cover....
I wonder if you could grind off the flat vertical section in the front so you could use it to put stuff under and it’ll contain it from flying

The sides of the mount are open, so the underneath is accessible, if you have small enough fingers. o_O

I plan to put a hole with a grommet in the middle underneath the mounting plate so I can hide charging cables.

I've been wanting to get a dash mount like that for a while but don't have much I'd use it for... yet. I like the ICS mount you have and the Rago Fabrication one as well (not my pic):

That looks sweet. I have been using this: https://mobarmor.com/mobnetic-pro-90/
I put it right above my 4x4 dial and it has been nothing short of perfect for what I need. It stays out of the way of the a/c, it stays on through thick and thin, it is close enough to unlock by the facial feature on Iphones. And has a pretty small foot print. My truck has Apple play so I don't need the phone for GPS.

Those look a bit overkill IMO. Phones weight about 200 grams, max.

I just put a magnet where I want my phone and place a thin metal plate on my phone. Works fine and costs $15.

I love the idea and design here but am also not about to drill my dash or pay that much for a phone holder........at least not without sleeping on it first!

How's the shaking with the 67d arms. I'd been talking to ICS on FB and they said it's much improved, but couldn't really quantify it. The shaking with the RAM stuff can be real bad at times. It's good on the road, but once i'm off road, it's hard to see my map because it's shaking so much. The shaking is coming from where the arm clamps to the rubber ball. I figure the 67d with the metal ball will shake less.

I had a magnet mount at first, that thing dropped my phone once I got to speed on a trail. First medium sized bump and it was on the floorboards.

Anyone you know try the Mob Armor mount? I did a mountain trail lately, and although I wasn't going fast, I was bouncing around pretty good and my phone was solid.

MobArmor is good. I like their cradle. I was considering going with them, but recently, there have been complaints about the plastic base breaking. I was using a Scoche magnet with plate. It sucked bad. The MA magnet is supposed to be super strong.

Was the metal plate in direct contact with the magnet or air gap? What magnet was it?

Just wondering cus mine has never fallen off. My old tundra got rear ended so hard that the frame crumpled and was totaled. Phone didn't move.

It's easy on easy off as well.

It was a Scoche magnet. Yes, the plate was directly on the back of my phone, then directly mounted to the dash.

The only shaking I have is the residual vibration when I drive down extremely rough roads. You're absolutely right about the rubber on the RAM balls, that's what causes the bad vibration, which is precisely why I went with 67 Designs. Literally the worst the phone moves is a few millimeters.

I was hesitant on that as well, drilling into my brand new truck. After a lot of back and forth I just bit the bullet. You remove the dash pad that goes there, it's four 1/4" holes, and if I ever take it out, throw the pad back on and you never know the holes are there.

Those are all good points and concerns. Honestly it comes down to personal choice. I went the route I did because once I have a tablet mounted with trail maps, plus the phone, plus a GoPro dash cam I tried to find the best way to do that. 67 Designs is tailored to hardcore Jeep guys. If it holds up for them, why wouldn't it hold up for me. And I gotta say, I've had all kinds of phone mounts over the years.. I'd buy this setup again in a heartbeat.

I have the ICS mount and really like it. Solid and easy to mount. With that being said, really thinking of selling it and getting the rago base. Just looks like it was made for that spot on the dash.

How did you mount the plate to your phone? I have a thin otterbox case and I’m wondering if I put the plate on the back of my phone, the magnet will still hold thru the case.
