I have that same amp and love it! Super loud and no white noise.

Just wanted to post an update.... The wiring 4438 harness worked perfect for connecting my RD900 5 channel so I didnt have to run new speaker wires. Just a few new rcas to the new headunit and a 4 gauge power wire to the battery. Built an amp rack from a cutting board lol. Attached amp to cutting board then bolted entire setup down to factory mounting points (super solid !!). Sub wire is pre run and will hook up sub when it arrives next week.

Thank you! Thank you, thank you, thank you. I would have never guessed the problem with the OEM (non-JBL) system was lack of power. I installed the 445U using only the adaptor harness - kept all other wiring the same. It sounds so much better. There is nice punch in the bass, and the mid are really clear. This is with FACTORY speakers! You saved me a lot of $$......

My co-worker just mentioned the other day about using a cutting board for an amp mount. I'm picking me one up tomorrow. Great Job man!

Nice! Same amp I'm running. Had it in my 2012 tacoma that my wife now drives. It's a solid ass amp.

I may just be confusing myself, but I'm going to use the 445u and the harnesses from auto harness. From this photo, I see you route the green and purple from one alpine back to the other alpine and autoharness. On the auto harness with the red black yellow and extra grey, what do I connect the red and extra grey wire to on the alpine side?

I do not recall. There is a diagram here on this thread that explains each wire. Let me find it for you.

Install of 445u and autoharness in the 2017 Pro is complete. sound was instantly better. Thanks for everything in this thread. Probably going to follow up with the PB and infinity speakers and sound deadening material. Ill update as i go.

So maybe I missed this, and pardon my ignorance but early in the thread the author of this thread said he didn’t use the other adapter. What happens to those wires? Are they just there for show? I want to do the exact same set up with the alpine amp. I have the connector, but the wiring diagram shows wiring hookups for two connectors?

There are two connectors under the passenger seat that plug into the OEM amp. See post 61.

Yes but the amp is 4 channel and it appears we are supporting 6 Or 7 channels.

UPDATE: Sorry about this the RCA hookups confused me on the amp. It is split into 8 wires. My stupidity.

One final question: I am going to add the alpine and a powered JL audio sub. Can I tap the wires prior to the alpine for the signal to the JL audio line level inputs?

So did run into one final question. Does the “Amp” 2nd ground need to be grounded to the chassis or will the ground attached to the amp suffice? Thank you in advance.

Got the Alpine installed and all I can say is WOW! Much improved. So are the powerbass speakers worth the upgrade? I have a JL Audio Powerwedge that I am installing this weekend!! Thanks again for this post. Thought there was no opportunity for an upgrade.

If anyone is willing to help me here, without going into great detail about why Best buy, but I need help picking out a speaker ,amp, and sub combo from their website. Don't really understand what speakers this truck takes , if component are worth it vs standard.

Anyway if someone can send links to a build they make based on the best buy website that would be more then helpful!!!

Everything I've seen on best buy is over priced. There have been plenty of links posted, and even model numbers. What I've done in the past is used the Crutchfield website to get an idea of part numbers and used those part and model numbers to search for the best deals. I like using Crutchfield for speakers, since they include the right adapters to make the speakers fit and wiring adapters. For the amp bypass, you'll want autoharness house bypass harness, #4438. From this harness, you can wire up the alpine amp that's been talked about in this thread, following the wiring diagrams that have been posted. From that harness, you can use speaker level inputs to run a sub, with a separate power wire from the battery. The whole process isn't terribly difficult, it's just time consuming soldering the harness together. Amazon and Crutchfield are great resources to buy the parts from. For speakers, I went with 6.5" speakers front and rear, 3 way fronts, 2 way rear. I tried to match the speakers rms rating to the amp (around 45 watts rms). If i did it again, I'd look into getting the sail panels with the tweeter cutouts and run components in the front doors. There is a wealth of knowledge in this thread, you'll just have to sift through and read it. FWIW, I think my speakers sound better now, than they did when I first put them in. Adding the small sub took the strain of the bass off the door speakers, and everything sounds very crisp and clear now.

I just bought my 2014 Limited and it is the non-JBL system. Would everything on this thread apply to my setup? I'm brand new to Tundra and as you know the sound sucks. I have to do my upgrades on the cheap and one at a time since there's no way the wife will go for the $1000 tech12volts setup. I need to do it stealth like. I don't need a thumper, just clearer sound with an even bass hit.

Crutchfield. Either explore the site and plug in your vehicle of give them a call. They have amazing support both for purchasing and install.

I dont think EVERYTHING applies, but since you have a non JBL system, as I do also, its fairly simple.

first you will need this harness - https://www.autoharnesshouse.com/41112.html
this makes everything plug and play "basically"
you should get some sort of DSP or LOC to clean up the signal coming from the head unit
then a new amp and some RCA patch cables.

You Will Not use the factory amp under the pass seat, it gets replace.

This is my setup with the above mentioned items: I have about 400.00 invested in this.

thank you. I have a lot to learn. Are you using the stock speakers? Or did they get replaced first?

Iam using all stock speakers except for the dash, which I just recently changed. You will not have to install aftermarket speakers.
The sound is amazing with just stock speakers - just saying...

Sorry - I replaced the amp and LOC first, then later added the new dash speakers

Feel free to send me PM's if you want, so we dont tie up this thread...

Ok I have everything wired up for this alpine amp and also have the plug n play harnesses from auto harness .com but when I plug it in I am getting no sound from the speakers. I have tested ground(black), remote power(red), and constant 12V(yellow) and all are fine. Any tips or ideas on why I am getting no sound from the speakers? I even ordered a second amp to plug in and same thing. Slight pop when the key is turned on but no sound whatsoever. Thanks guys
