Was at 4/32 at the oil change today. Wasn't going to push em. Got 44.2k out of em. Dropped 900$ on these. Hope I didnt get taken. Rides like a truck now. American Tire price match .

American tire price matched 4W Parts who was paying tax plus 50 off.

900 includes 20$ per tire install

Damn that’s a lot of weights on that wheel. One of the only reasons I have not gone with the KO2 as I have heard they are a pain to balance. Curious how the ride is?

Ride isnt as cushy. Bumps are felt some more. Must be the E load rating and 10 ply etc. Highway is smooth as silk, less floating it seems. Easier to steer in city. Minimal noise, louder than LTX.

A little but still the same I only run mine at 40psi in front and 35 in the back it helps with the ride. You might want to check pressure in yours that may help a little unless you want the extra gas mile.

Damn good looking tire! I went with the LTX over the KO2 due to the warranty, Michelin sale, and being a pavement princess but those KO2 look great!!!! I'm intrigued to hear your opinion on the difference and pro's/con's of each.

That's interesting, I have about the same mileage and mine still look pretty good (and I've been wanting them to wear so I have a reason to upgrade to some better ones...). I do mostly freeway driving though with rotations at every oil change.

the amount of weights they use on mine to get them to balance is ridiculous. I’ve had nothing but balance issues. I have had numerous sets and I’m taking a break and going Toyo AT3.

nice score OP. As long as you don’t run into balance issues you’ll like them. I have never had a flat or any other kinds of issues. They do good in snow and fair on wet pavement. They have never left me stranded. Make sure to rotate often. They can be prone to cupping. Mine have worn extremely well.

Nice find. I get all my rubber from Discount/American Tire. Good people, good prices and they support their products. I had a set on my F150 for 40k miles and they were looking good for another 40k miles. Quiet, handled great and looked amazing. Keeping them balanced was a nightmare; but I rotated and balanced them every 5-6k miles.

OP said 44k miles on the Michelins. I thought they would last or have warranty up to 70k?

I have not been impressed with these tires. I have had them on two trucks. My current truck has 38k on it. If I really push it I might get 8 more out of them. They suck on wet pavement but are good off road. My last truck got maybe 30k out of them. Both trucks tires have gotten rotated every 5k

I have found that every Michelin tire I have owned have never made it to the full warranty mileage. The nice thing is that when I get the next set I get a nice refund and end up paying half price a lot of the time. Been doing this for years with Discount Tire (American Tire) company.

I normally get 60k out of a new set of LTX tires, and I drive them pretty hard on pavement but I also rotate & balance whenever I detect a wobble or vibration, and keep the front end aligned. They still have usable tread on them when I replace them, but I tend to drive faster than most in wet conditions so fresh tread is a must.

I replaced the LTX tires when I bought my truck new. The E rated KO2s have been a perfect combination. Aggressive enough in the dirt, great traction in the snow, quite enough at highway speeds, are wearing well with rotation every 5,000 miles, and handle well even while towing my 5th wheel trailer. They aren't the best on wet roads. My set of KO2s balanced easily when installed new and haven't required and additional balancing.

Same. Just got new LTX A/T2’s. The set I took-off had 68k miles and could have gone longer, but gearing up for a long trip.

Just two days ago I was turning and when I eased into the gas my truck almost did a 180 turn while it was raining. This has happened on both trucks. When I saw the truck came with them I just shook my head. I drive the truck like a grandpa and really do when it’s wet. I hate them at slick boat ramps. Always have to put it in 4x4. Going most likely back to Nitto terra grappler G2’s or Michelin’s

I have 9/32 left and I’m going to unload them soon for this very reason. I also slide in boat ramps. I’ve also noticed now that they are half worn they have got considerably worse. I’m set on the Toyo AT3. Give them a look.

I sure will. They are loud too. Never liked that. Some people love them some people have issues like we have I guess. I personally don’t trust them that much. But ya know they came on the truck and I figured I’m not gonna waste them.

I had a set of BFG KO2s - good ride, quiet but they sucked on wet roads. I just put on a set of Falken Wildpeaks and so far great ride and quiet - on par to the KO2s. Time will tell on wear and performance but so far I like them.
