Can someone please tell me where to connect two positive harness wires? Here’s my situation: I have a 2019 tundra sr, 4.6. I bought a fog light kit and am using the harness that came with it. It has a switch that fit right into the blank, it also has an in-line 40amp relay, and also an in-line 15amp fuse. I’ve grounded the grounds and all I have left to connect is the positive “A” wire and positive “D” wire. (See Diagram) & pics. I assume the relay goes straight to the battery and the fuse straight to the corresponding 15 amp fog light fuse in the fuse box. Does that sound about right? Pleased help....F643AA4F-2958-40F7-9BC3-F49D027A067E.jpgD9904B8A-9085-45FD-8496-EF7FAAF5C7DE.jpg 5D739A0B-AC91-42BD-A84E-E67E2297037B.jpg

I’ll try to find the post... but someone had posted the wiring schematic for headlights and fog lights someplace here recently. Do you mean you’re considering running that wire lead directly to the battery terminal? I’d recommend against that. Maybe @Ruggybuggy can give you some quick pointers.... I’ll look for the post with the wiring digram.

Man that's a bad diagram. The wire that comes off the 15A fuse is the circuit for the fog lights. Power runs form the fuse through the relay to the fog lights then to ground. The A terminal is the control side through the relay. Powering this wire and grounding B terminal should switch the relay on/off which will allow the relay to turn on the fog lights. Your going to have to trace the wires to confirm this.

How do you want to use the fog lights? Do you want them to come on with the low beams, high beams or on when you click the switch yourself?

Hi there, I wanna thank you for your reply and sorry it took me a while to reply to you but I just now opened it. Anyway, here is my deal: yes I want to be able to turn on and off by myself and the harness came with a switch that does that. I’ve put it all in except for power connections. One positive wire that goes to the 40amp relay which is built into the harness and another positive wire that goes to the 15amp fuse which is also built into the harness. I wonder if the relay wire goes directly to battery and the 15amp fuse wire stabs into the 15amp fog light fuse slot in the fuse box, which does already have a fuse. Fog lights don’t come standard but it is prewired for them, which is normal i understand
I’ll clean up the schematic and re post

If you just want the light to come on independent of the fog light circuit just hook up the wire from the 15amp fuse to battery positive. The positive wire that goes to the relay is the control circuit that includes the switch. Hook this wire up to a 12v ignition switched power source. Don't bother trying to get power from the fog light circuit because your using it independently it doesn't matter. Never push wires into the fuse box next to a fuse. It widens the terminal in the fuse box and can be an expensive repair.

Thanks man. So the wire coming out of the 40 amp relay just ties into 12v power source such as cigarette lighter and it’s ok to connect wire from 15 inline fuse directly to positive battery terminal without overloading the fog light kit, correct?

Based what I can see on the very bad wiring diagram, yes. The 15amp fuse protects the fog lights from overloading. Before you wire it all in you can test it by just touching both the positive wires to the battery positive terminal. The + wire from the 15amp fuse will power the fog lights on. The A wire that goes to the relay and switch with power the relay on. You will hear a click noise when you activate the switch. I would recommend you add a 5amp fuse to the A wire to protect against shorts.

Upon more careful & closer inspection, the thicker positive WHITE wire goes from the 40amp relay and connects directly to and through the 15amp fuse. So it ultimately comes out of the 15amp fuse. That’s what I need to connect to 12v power source, correct?
Now the thinner positive RED wire actually comes from the fog lights. Where does that connect to? I hope that makes more sense. Sorry for my confusing and wrong original explanation. See pics

The white wire is definitely the positive wire and connect to your battery. That whit wire goes from the fuse, throught the relay then to the fog lights. The fog lights will also have one ground wire on each connector. Are you sure that red wire goes to the fog lights? It looks like a the control wire from the relay.

Try googling "fog light wiring diagram" in images to give you an idea how it's wired.

Red wire is to the on/off switch
White wire is from the relay to the fuse then out. For sure

Ok so white wire to battery positive and red wire to a power source that only come on with ignition. The cigarette lighter socket would work but fuse the wire with around 5 to 10 amps in case it shorts. Fuse should be located as close to the point where the power starts.

Sorry, I had a typo that said 5 to 20amp fuse. Should have read 10amp.

    Stupid fat fingers.
