I recently received a DV8 3 Piece bumper for a 2nd gen and it didn’t come with instructions. I contacted DV8 and they sent me instructions for a one piece bumper that looks almost identical but needs parts that I do not have. I have tried installing the new bumper, got the old one stripped off and the new winch plate on but that’s as far as I can go, I don’t understand how it’s supposed to attach from here. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

If you already bolted up the winch plate, you should have three large pieces left. A middle piece, and two side pieces that look the same except are mirror images of each other. You bolt the two side, mirror image pieces to the single middle piece. One on each side. There is a foam piece you can put in between each side piece and the middle piece before you put the bolts through. After you bolt these side pieces on, it should look like the one piece instructions. It is up to you whether you want to bolt the side pieces to the middle piece before or after you attach the middle piece to the winch plate.

If this doesn't help, what exactly are you confused about? What have you tried?

Their 3 piece does have cut outs for fog lights.. after i got mine put together i made the joke "this is the ikea bumper" their instructions arnt good to begin with and after putting together still had a hand full of bolts that went to nothing. The angle on the lights make them floods only since their tilted outwards , was hard to fit the winch in their even tho it said it could take a 12.5k , had to massage the bumper corners to get them level cause they were welded crooked and mine came with a grinder gouge in it. Over all i wasn't 20200524_114014.jpg to impressed and shortly after found a iron cross bumper on sale i wish i bought.... i did how ever measure out and put the sonar sensors in the relative oem spot

I have never installed a 3rd gen, but I imagine the "bolting on the mirror end pieces to the center piece is probably the same. I know people have put 3rd gen bumpers on a 2nd gen (which I'm assuming you have based on your profile info) if they separate the colored panel on top of the bumper (the long strip between the grill and the bumper). What specifically are you having trouble with?

Thank you! I will let you know if I run into any problems as I have not put it on my truck yet.I was mainly confused about no instructions and I couldn’t find any mounting brackets in my package but after reading what you wrote about the brackets not needing to be there for proper fitment it should be fine.I have another question about the fog lights.Do you have to put them in before you put the bumper on or can you do it after and do you have to have certain lights to fit or will any 3.5 lights work?

Sure. Before you tear into it, you might want to do a search on the forums about what it takes to install a 3rd gen bumper on a 2nd gen - even if it's talking about OEM bumpers. While I think most of the major components are the same, you might need shims or do some additional modifications to get it to look right and it isn't as "bolt on" as if it was a Gen2 bumper.
