Tintable colours sounds cool... I wonder if they supply us up here in the great white north ....

They ship from Minnesota I think, so maybe? Or look into other diy tintable Berliner’s. The monstaliner is great because it’s UV rated, in the Southwest that’s a big deal! I’ve noticed no fading on the bumper I did 3-5 years ago, I also literally folded the bumper coming off a ledge that I misjudged, all it did was crack along the folds, it hasn’t chipped or anything else and that was when I first painted I think.
I was going to try and color match my phantom grey pearl for my bedliner but I couldn’t find one exact, so just went with plain Jane black

Has anyone tried poofing some dry powdered graphite down that chasm where the squeaks seem to be coming from?
Seems like maybe a better solution.

Pulled the trigger and ordered a BFF high clearance rear bumper . Was thinking about the coastal off road bumper but it was only a couple hundred more for the BFF, plus it'll be welded already . Only bad thing is it'll take awhile to get it but I'll be worth the wait .

Hey I am running 265s as well on 16” wheels and I had the same problem. I went up an inch and it fixed it immediately. I’d say you’ll be clear with 5100’s on either upper notch like you said. Most will probably agree shortly it will not rub after that.

So the Decked system I was trying to buy used was sold so now I'm just going to build my own! I measured out the bed and did a quick layout. I'm going to keep it simple for the time being until it gets a little usage then potentially modify and/or add to the system.

With that said, I just put an order together on Amazon/Lowe's:
    • Marine-grade carpet (floor of the drawers to try to prevent sliding/dings)
    • 3M 77 spray Adhesive - for carpet
    • UHMW Tape - This will go on the floor of the system to slide the drawers in/out
    • (4) Stainless 30" piano hinges - Each side will have (4) lids to access by the wheel wells
    • (4) Turnbuckles and pad eyes - This will attach the drawers to the truck
    • (5) sheets of 3/4" plywood - Need to go pick this up.
    • (1) Gallon of Flex Seal Liquid - I plan to use this on the face of the drawers and top platform to add some protection
I was hoping to knock out most of this, this weekend but it's raining today, tomorrow and I think Sunday so not sure when I will be able to attack this but it gives me time to figure out a few more things! (handles/cutouts/locking the drawers/stopping them from coming out all the way) I have ideas for all but not sure which way I want to go.

Measurements are close enough to understand what's going on but will test fit as we go.

I really like this look, but my truck is an SR5. So I have a chrome strip on the bumper as well as the grille. I reckon I'll wait until I find a SSM Limited bumper and do it all at once.
    Thank you for the picture.

So Ive been making progress on my lower ball joint replacement until I got to one last bolt (14mm that attaches the LBJ to the steering knuckle). This sucker wont come free! Ive been spraying WD-40 penetrating spray, and hammering with a impact wrench and its not budging. Should I buy a torch to heat it up? A more powerful impact wrench? All the others came out alright with this Ryobi wrench I borrowed from a co-worker. But I need to buy my own anyways, so maybe a stronger one will do it? Very frustrating cuz I just wanna get this all replaced and put back together this weekend and be done!

If you do the bumper strip as well it blends in at least on a dark color truck.

    I did mine in graphite.

Just use a breaker bar. If that doesn't work use a longer breaker bar.

I had the wheel studs resting on a jack with a block of wood to keep some of the downward pressure off. Give that a try first as it seems to be just one holding you up.

Ill give it a try! I was doing that at first before I borrowed the impact wrench. The problem I was having, is that without the tie rod attached anymore the whole wheel assembly keeps moving. Any good way to keep it from moving while I use the breaker bar? Maybe just loosely reattach the tie rod to keep things from moving?
Ill give it a try after work, fingers crossed!

I'm not sure that it will make a difference on this job but in the future I would buy a better penetrating spray. I use Kroil but others say that Deep Creep is even better.

Ill try this as well! I watched a video of a guy recommending that but it was more to lift the assembly up to have room to install the new LBJ. But maybe taking off some of that downward pressure with this stubborn bolt will be what it needs. Thanks for the heads up, I'll try that as well too

Yea I hear ya, I actually have some Kroil on order from Amazon but its not supposed to arrive for another 2 weeks! Lowes didnt have much selection for a penetrating spray. Maybe on my way home from work I'll try to find something better!

My truck is so light, I'd need to paint the chrome strip on the bumper body color.
I prefer the Limited bumper as it looks much tidier without that trim piece in the middle. I wish removing that trim piece is as simple as removing my badges was.

Agreed, sucks that they added tabs into the bumper.
Definitely would have preferred to remove it all together.

No real closeups, I’ve posted the ones I’ve got already. The flares and the bumper turned out great, I did the bed with a seperate application.....used some silica sand......shin and knee eater for sure!! I highly like and recommend their product, it seems like they’ve done a lot of lab testing and verification on the product, they also do undercoatings

Nice! Was that sprayed on? That's a texture I can live with on my roof.

Got a little plasti-dip love to black out most of the chrome and added a topper. Idea stolen from another group.

That was roll on, I think the spray is more agressive texture. Our 4runner bumper is kinda slick when the dogs nails hit it(kinda our bad, we need to trim them better) but even his big ol nails don’t leave scratch marks, only surface marks than can be wiped off. A roof would be super easy to do! B5B9F94D-CA5D-4F2A-886A-212FF8F0D01E.jpgimage.jpg
This one is of the runner rear bumper cover thingy, it’s a lil chaulky because I haven’t washed it in a long long time, haha sorta out of spite of someone that said it was dirty! But I think you could get an even smoother texture if you wanted by using a less aggressive roller.

Either of those looks like a good texture to me. I thought the roller made the more aggressive texture but maybe it depends on sprayer psi. Either way, a roller is a lot easier for me so that's a win. Thanks buddy

Ordered a buffer and some compounds/wax/detailing stuff. Time to bring the black back to its former glory...

After 6 to 10 days when the package arrives.
