Does anyone have experience in having the factory TRD wheels powder coated? I like the factory wheels for now and thought about getting them coated all black or maybe going with a bronze color. My only concern is durability. I would hate to get them done and it not last. Also if I go the bronze route I would have to find paint to match for the center caps I guess.

I powder coated my 07’ stock Sequoia wheels flat black and they held up for years. Sold it 2 years ago for my tundra. Only $55 a wheel I believe

I was quoted $80 a wheel that included removing and installing the tires. I though that was a good price.

I paid $250 otd. $62.50 per wheel. One week turnaround. Highly recommend if you're in the L.A. area.

Just had these done. $50.00 a wheel.

The black part of your factory TRD wheels is powdercoated so durability shouldn't be a big concern.

Shit, I was quoted 150/wheel and that's if I brought the bare wheels in to them

    Buster1 those came out nice.

The place by me I pull up or take them my wheels they call me when they are done. As soon as they take customers again I will have them do it. I think black will be my choice just because it is the easiest don’t have to paint the center caps.

Any painted their wheels before? I was thinking about plastidip and glossifier, but I wonder how much harder paint would be?
If the paint turns out bad....I could always sand blast them and have them powder coated.

They sandblasted them prior to powdercoating if that's what you mean.

What are your preferences for black rims on the tundra? Matte black or gloss black rims? Been thinking of getting them powder coated black. Trucks white and love the panda look.

I had mine done a 50/50 mix of matte and gloss at the recommendation of the shop foreman. He said it'll show less fingerprints, dust, etc. than straight gloss and less scratches/scuffs than matte.

That's absurd. Might as well buy your own powdercoat setup and set up an old oven at that rate. That's what i plan on doing hopefully in a month or so.

Agreed! If you were close enough I'd go in with you on the setup in order to get them done..

Anyone in NoVA had theirs done?

@Buster1 - where did you go? I am wanting to PC my wheels black also. I contacted a local shop (Clackamas) and they quoted 100/wheel to sandblast and PC.

    looks awsome!

Well, down to $150 per wheel now. NoVA is always expensive.

Yeah I looked into it locally and was blown away at what they want. I can get a set of take off Pro wheels and sell my off road wheels and be way cheaper than that all in.

I'm in MD, not far off at all from NoVA actually. If mine turn out ok i'd be happy to do yours for the cost of powder. I've wanted a setup for a while to do my wheels, bumper ends and other random parts for projects. I have a compressor and all i need to buy is the actual gun and an oven that will fit a wheel. Gonna hunt on Craigslist and see if i can find one that runs on 120V thats still big enough. The fumes are toxic so no go for using my home oven. I'll shoot you a PM if it all works out, just might be a little while before i get everything.
