Has anyone had their 18" factory TRD Off Road wheels powder-coated? If so, what'd it cost? Are you happy with the outcome?

Quite a few members have had it done on here. I got a quote of $50 per wheel here in the Phoenix area, but that was with an unknown on whether they'd need to be stripped prior to the PC. I wouldn't pay more than $300 to get it done - just sell and buy new wheels at that point.

I just had mine done in bronze chrome (pics coming soon.) It cost $75/wheel from a VERY reputable powder coater.

I guess i over paid. I paid $100 per wheel. That included removing wheels, dismount tire, sandblast, powder, remount & balance tire, and put it back on the truck. Dropped off in the morning, picked it up the same day.

i love how they came out

I'd pay that if I could find a local shop that would do it all in house. My quote was just for them to coat the wheels with the tires already off. Seems like a logistical pain in the ass.

It really does. Tire shop, sandblasters, then to the powder guy, then back to the tire shop. All while leaving the tundra on jackstands . I guess i had it easy going to a one-stop-shop

Previous wheel owner used some crazy chemical combo to clean and really, REALLY eff’d up the finish. I got ALL 4 plus center caps, some hardware with trashed lugs for $200 (Well, really $230 when you add gas to drive there...)Bought them from a nice Jeep owner in Oxnard CA. Sat in unloved in my garage for 7 months...
Local Tire shop in Orange (OC Tire on East Chapman) sent them out took 3 weeks and some frustration dealing with Rich the owner but $50/wheel was too good to pass up.

Bought a used set of 18" TRD Off Road wheels off Facebook Marketplace for $200.00 that are sitting at the powder coat shop right now. They quoted me $50.00 a wheel.

Went with a mix of 50/50 matte black and gloss as recommended by the shop foreman. He said it'll show less fingerprints, marks, etc. Hopefully they're done soon.

I got a quote about a year ago to just go flat black. The guy I called that is in my area said 100$ a wheel and I would have to have someone else take the tire off and put the tire on. He said he would only do the coating. I said never mind. I couldn’t believe he was that high for just the coating compared to what others have paid.

Yeah, no way I'd pay $100.00 a wheel. I'm hoping by the time this is all said and done that I'll be into it right around $500.00. That includes buying the wheels, powder coating, unmounting, remounting, and balancing my tires on the "new" wheels.

I then plan to sell my wheels. They only have 6,500 miles on them.

Picked them up today. Cost was $50.00 a wheel. $100.00 to mount and balance my tires.

Lookin good!!! Toyota should have made them all like that. Trd center caps are a pretty cheap upgrade to make them look like pro wheels. I did it, and i like it better.

You done good!!! They look nice!!!

Houston area would cost 200 a wheel!! I called four local shops all the same!! Plus from above it would have been a PITA to get them off and get them there then get them to remount and blah blah blah!!

I bought a used set of wheels off of Facebook Market for $200.00. That way I didn't have to mess around with my wheels and be without my truck.

Took the shop a couple of weeks to get the wheels powdercoated, but I was in no big hurry.

Sold my stock wheels afterwards. When it was all said and done, I was $200.00 out of pocket including unmounting, remounting, and balancing my tires.

I’m actively shopping around in San Diego and this is what I’m getting from reputable shops. This is for bare wheels/no tires mounted. Single coat of powder.

$75-85 labor per wheel - Sandblast, powder coat, and cure

$65-90 for 5lbs of powder depending on color.

Certain colors require a base coat and top coat which bumps up the price.
