Ceramic window tint

So I got a quote today for ceramic window tint. Remove the old tint and retint with 5% ceramic, total of $490.

 

Damn that better be some good stuff. I hear ceramic tint makes a difference share your thought if you do it.

 

I've seen quotes higher than that. If it helps with the heat here I'm good with it. Watch this video...its pretty good.

Paid 130 for front only. It made a huge a difference.

 

So I can only imagine what a windshield strip, 4 doors, and rear windows will do.

 

Not a bad price since it includes removal of old tint. I paid a little over $300 for llumar ceramic tint on my car.

 

The 17 year old tint on my 2002 is coming off the doors this Saturday, it will be replaced with Ceramic tint. Both doors and the windshield for $200.00, I am leaving the old tint on the back window for now because it is shielded by the bed cap.

 

I did mine a couple months ago with 5% rear doors, back window, sunroof, 25% front, and also tinted the windshield for $550 total (all Ceramic). They did need to remove the old tint from the front widows tho so that's why it costs a bit more. It cuts the TX heat that's for sure!

 

Just got a quote of $330 out the door. That is removing my old tint and new 5% Lumar ceramic all the way around.

Yeah Fl is hot too lol. I'm going 5% on all the windows. I have 5% now and the back doors are peeling after 8 years so it's time for an upgrade lol.

 

Here's mine from the inside.
Windscreen: 10% visible light reduction
Sides: 85% visible light reduction
No ceramic though unfortunately, I hadn't been able to find anyone locally that carried it. Ah, someday.

 

I'm having mine done this week. Ceramic on all windows w/70% tint on back and 50% on front windows, adding a hydrophobic ceramic coating to the outside of the windows, and ceramic on all exterior (paint, chrome, bumpers, etc.) with CQ.UK 3.0, all for $1500. And the shop is warrantying for 5 years as long as I apply the booster every 6 months.

 

The first drive in today's hot sun with my new Ceramic tint on the windshield of my 2002 convinced me that I need to do the same thing for my 2007, it's awesome.

 

That much of a difference and you have it in the entire truck? I'm in Florida and getting 5% on mine on Wednesday. I didnt ask about the clear for the windshield yet.

 

$330 for removal of old and install of ceramic is really good compared to what the prices are in my area. My wife got ceramic front tint on her Honda Passport, I just got the standard tint in same % and I can tell a huge difference in her heat reduction and mine. I actually wish I had gotten ceramic tint. Unfortunately my wife hate when I pay for something twice because I've changed my mind so I'm stuck with it lol

 

80% on the windshield, darker on the sides. My '07 currently has the darker ceramic back & sides, but nothing on the windshield. Huge improvement with the windshield tinted, and it's almost clear so no issues with vision.

 

Good price for ceramic. Prices have really gone down. I had gotten all (yes, even the windshield) windows on my Legacy GT tinted with ceramic when Huper first released it. It was almost 2k.

 

There is an even better Ceramic tint available now IRX, but it's about twice the cost of standard Ceramic.

Yeah they say if you go 5% limo on all windows and clear on the windshield, it can reduce inside temps up to 25 degrees....wow.

 

I am going to have to look into the ceramic windshield tint. Just looked up 70% and it looks nearly invisible. I wouldn't have any issues with getting it inspected with that!

 

Do it. Get your windshield done as well. It's the biggest piece of glass on your vehicle and lets the most heat in.

 

Where did you look it up at? My truck is already 5% so I wont have any issues with local enforcement when I switch over to ceramic.

 

You said you were getting Llumar? Is it the Formula One Stratos?

 

This is what I put on the Tundra 2 years ago. Well worth it. The heat reduction is huge. A quality product!

 

I don't know....he just said they only use Llumar film.

 

Getting ceramic on my front windows. Removal of old tint and install $170.

I did come across Xpel XR Plus , 98% heat reduction and it comes at a price. Was quoted over 1k for all 4, I don't think so, maybe on my Maserati

 

Llumar owns the FormulaOne brand of tint. The Stratos is one of the more highly regarded films on the market right now.

 

Check out Huper Optik - best ceramic tint on the market. They hold the patent for the technology. I've had three vehicles done (two of them Tundras). Superior product.
