Console Vault Lock Question

Hello, I have a 2010 Tundra crew max with the console vault in the center console. It looks like "console vault" brand with 3 digit combination but I don't know the combination because previous owner did not include it. Does anyone know how I can open it? Or how can I remove it? I want to get it open so I can use it or just remove it. I tried to email the manufacturer but they have not replied. I attached a pic of it. Any advice is appreciated.

 

3 digit combo won't be too hard to figure out. You only have a max of 1000 combos

I'd start off calling that number on the tag, and if that gets you no where I'd go for a locksmith. They can probably drill it out and put in a key lock for you.

There is no way to know the combination unless the previous owner tells you. I would check the obvious stuff first like 000 or 123 and then just start going through the possibilities. I will not take as long as you think to figure it out. It is always the last number you try

 

I figured it'd be the big fckin' hammer, but @TokerJoker is an odd duck and might have another definition. Just wanted to be sure.... that and I didn't really think about it until after I posted my reply and figured it out.

 

I was thinking busting out a saw. I guess the 1000 options is probably better. Then you can reuse the safe and reset the combo to what you want. Do it in shifts. 100 at a time. Should only take a few hours honestly.

Can't you contact the dealership to contact the last owner for the combination?

If this truck is from Colorado you may want to try 420.

 

I'd reach out to the previous owner. Or if you bought it from the dealer, they will have his/her information, that they can reach out and ask. Might save you money doing it that way first.

 

I already contacted the dealer but they couldn't get a hold of the previous owner. I did try the obvious like 000, 123, 999, etc. I contacted the company, person said I need proof of purchase. I'm going to call again and speak to someone else maybe get more help. OR I guess I will have to get started on the 1000 combinations or get a saw. LOL I'm assuming they install and bolt down from the inside of the vault.

 

I'd pay my kids $20 each and let them go to town. I'd only be out $40.

 

Sounds like a time consuming Covid project to me lol.

 

Try calling Lock'er Down 800-583-9820. They have the same type of lock in some of theirs and they may have some ideas.

 

I think the dealer is lying. See if they would give you the information and you reach out.
If not, do you know any LEO's in your Town/City or State? They can run the VIN# and get the last owners information.

If we are guessing, I'd go with the last 3 digits of the VIN#.
