Local dealer just got a white ‘21 sport in. Does the hood scoop block field of view any or an annoyance while driving? I want to go check out the truck just not sure about the darn hood scoop

If it's decorative, additional piece on a truck, I consider it annoying and somehere else to cause rust under it. Fender flares are the same in my eyes.

From what I know, it's serves no purpose.

Many love them, not me. If you like it, go for it. I actually don't mind the look of the hood scoop but would never add one.

I have never had one on a Tundra but on my 08 Taco, It would blind the crap out of me driving into the sun at certain angles. A flat black decal from one of the local sticker makers solved that for $15.

I would suggest to “check it out”. You will have your own questions answered without having to commit to anything. I, however, enjoy the “annoyance” that is the hood scoop! It does NOT hinder visibility for me...

I like the hood scoop, and it doesn't impact my visibility.

I like the hood scoop on mine. Doesn't interfere with normal every day driving. When off roading, it does impact my visibility a bit with the right front of the truck. Say when I am trying to avoid a rock or tree with the right front, crawling up hill. This just gives me an excuse to had the front camera!!

And you may end up with something like this, happened with less then 1000 mile on the truck. Yes the rock won this time....

Agree with this. I had the same issue with my Tacoma. I made sure my Tundra didn't have the scoop.

Its not a Hood Scoop but a Hood Ornament - non-functional.

It would be way cooler if it was functional, but I still like it. There has never been a situation where I wished I didn’t have one. Go see it, take a test drive and judge for yourself.

I drove an '08 without a hood scoop until '18 when I got a new tundra with the scoop. I have not noticed any situations in which it causes an issue with road vision. Nor have I had any added glare due to this part being on the truck. Mine is MGM, so when the truck is clean it is fairly shiny in the sunlight.

I specifically got a model without a scoop because the Tundra already has a scoop.at the front of the hood. The double scoop.was too much for me!

TRD Pro and the Sport have the scoop. You can swap hoods if you really don't like the scoop.

I had mine painted satin black just because....I also have fake beadlocks.

You could fit a smaller LED light bar in it to help justify it being there...on 4th gen 4runner, the 8" LED light bars seem to be a great addition to its "function."

Every time I see the hood scoop, I see this on the back of the truck.

No issues with mine. I didn't like it at first, but it grew on me. I like the looks, even if not functional.

Just get a super charger and then drill some holes into it. Shouldn't cost too much
