I went with about 6 mini cans of Tamiya, it works well. It gets tricky using spray paint in such a small space on some bodies but a truck should be easy enough.

Everything Proline makes is good stuff. Haven't tried the paints but I have used a few of their tires, wheels, and suspension parts.

I think a DIY body and paint ran me around $100 or so, the body was around $40 and paint/liquid mask was about $50.

Edit- I forgot, funny story. When I did the Tundra body I lived in apartments. I had nowhere to paint it so I was doing it across the street on an abandoned shopping cart (Canoga Park is full of those). Some lady started yelling at me because she thought I was tagging. I tried to be cool but eventually her son (older than me) thought he would come to her defense. When he saw what I was doing he realized they were wrong and made his mom go inside, but she still called cops on me. Cops thought the paint job looked nice lol.

The smiles won't stop for at least 20 minutes, then your battery dies and you're gonna have to wait a while @fisherman951

I remember some bmx jumps 25 years ago on Essex off Central, there is a field there. They may still be there and worth taking a look if you're in that area. If the jumps aren't there I'm sure the dirt is and a shovel could help.

There you go! Last place out there I took my slash to was some hidden jumps along the gage canal and Citrus Heights. There was a set of rhythms there that were so fun.

I have a brushless emaxx and a wpl c14. I'll post pics soon. They're both modded pretty good. I enjoy modding them more than driving them. Maybe take them out to bash and crawl a few times a year. The dogs loveeee chasing the emaxx and ripping up the tires :bananadead:

What shocks are you running on the wpl? I need different ones , stock sucks. Also want more articulation from it

    Very cool!
My next door neighbor did a similar "rust bucket" paint job. I always thought it was so realistic and wanted to try it someday too, nice work!

Here are a couple pics of his project.

I'm still running stock for now. I barely drive it. I agree the stock shocks suck and it needs more articulation. Gotta try to find something that'll be good to run

The tires are WPL C44 V4 tires. The wheels are the stock C44 wheels. He painted them to make them look old.
He said you can get them from WPL-rc.com

Do you know the history of this gold pan buggy? I had one years ago and added purple dyed hubs to the front. Lol.

Does this have the stealth transmission. How does the underneath look?
