Rear axle - 2003 Toyota Tundra 4.7L V8 4x4

Does anyone know if the rear axle of a Toyota Sequoia in the same year (2003) can be swapped to fit a Toyota Tundra? If so does the Sequoia that it comes from need to be a 4x4?

 

Not w/o a lot off fab work. Sequoias are coil spring and rear discs.

 

I feel like this gets asked once a month. Maybe it shows that Tundras don't end up in scrap yards.

 

Are rear axles from 2wd tundras compatible with 4wd ones? Having a hard time finding a 4wd in my year where I am from. Also do 1st gen tundras regardless of 4x4 capability have the same rear axle design all together?

 

The axles are compatible 2wd vs 4wd, but the ratio are different. For your 4wd, v8 are the same v6 are the same 2000-2004, same with 2wd v8 and v6 are different and all 4 are different from each other.

You can swap you axle if it is leaking/rusted etc but you need to swap in your original pumpkin.

Not sure on 2005-2006

 

I bought a complete axle assembly. I still have the old one, good gears and axle shafts if anyone wants it (2000 2wd)

 

I'll buy them if anyone can help me confirm if they would fit in my 01 v8 4x4

 

Per my previous post, it will physically fit, but it will not work
2wd is 3.909 and 4wd is 3.916, so to make it work you need to swap your pumpkin.

 

I have the whole assembly (no brakes) w/ pumpkin. Shipping might be a killer?
