    Howsit bros,

So I ordered a Pro Comp Stage I kit with front and rear pro runner shocks to lift my Tundra 6 inches. However, I know that the CV angle will be horrible and was wondering which upper control arm to get. Don't really want to do a diff drop even though it's cheaper. I was kinda stuck on the Total Chaos or Icon. Unless you guys got a better UCA or suggestion.

    Thanks for your help!

There's a good thread that goes into detail about UCA's. Search "Everything you need to know about upper control arms"

I ordered Total Chaos today, the arms are made of stronger material than the Icon Tubular arms.

No, truck will not fit in garage...it doesn't even fit now haha. Yah was reading that thread for the UCA. Still leaning towards the TC UCA. I just like that the Icon has a top "dust" cap for the uniball.

BTW did it help with the CV angle in getting it closer to factory specs?

I'd do the diff drop...you'd kick yourself if you didn't pony up an extra 30 bucks for cheap insurance.

I'd go TC UCA. Seems to be the UCA of choice on here, another is camburg.

Why wouldn't you want to do the diff drop? It's more work to get back in side to drop the diff once the truck is lifted. Curious

I have spc uca's lots of adjustments and grease fittings for ball joints. They got my alignment dialed in.

Ok so two things wrong with this. Let me try to explain.

UCAs do not help with CV angles. It only helps with alignment specs, camber and caster. It is connected to the top of the spindle and just doesn't affect the angle of the cvs at ride height.

Second you will be required to drop the diff down. 6" height change would demolish your cvs. The kit comes with a new crossmember that drops your front diff down. You can't keep it in the stock location.

Here are the included components of the procomp 6" lift
    [IMG]

Here is the cut to the stock crossmember to fit the lowered postition of the front diff and front drive line
    [IMG][IMG]

You can kinda see the position of the diff in this pic. Its alot lower than stock. The CV angles are close to factory because of the drop.

Yep. This checks. FWIW, I ran Camburg UCAs on my FJ with the Pro Comp 6". They were great and allowed for some decent fine tuning on the alignment. That being said, the uniball design is inherently prone to the elements. Mud, sand, dust...you name it. I was greasing those things up every two weeks, otherwise they screamed like banshees. All in all, had them on for 60k+ miles and no issues--you know---other than the dirt, dust, constant greasing. Bwahaha

Now as far as if you should or shouldn't get UCAs.....you definately should. You will be much happier with them. Had a 6" lift on my 07 Tacoma before and added the SPCs. Much better than stock and got me within spec for alignment.

Right now I'm thinking of going with the TC UCA and a differential drop...just don't want to destroy my CV axles when I do go off-roading as the roads here are usually over lava fields

Anyone know if you can add the diff drop kit to the ProComp 6 inch lift kit?

I am not 100% sure how it attaches to the new crossmember but it doesnt appear to be below like on the stock. If this is the case then an additional spacer diff drop wouldn't work.

Here is the typical diff drop on a 3" lift with stock crossmember.
