Anyone having issues in ride quality and or tread wear? Not too worried about rubbing since that can be alleviated with some trimming and wheel spacers.

I'm running 35x12.5 Toyo AT III's on stock TRD Pro wheels with zero issues. Rides great, no rubbing. But... have a Coachbuilder Pro kit, 1.25" Bora spacers, bumper shims, and did a BMC.

Running 35x12.50r18 Patagonia M/T on my stock TRD Pro wheels.
No issues since I put them on back in July of 2019, rides good, no issues with rubbing. Ran 1.25" spidertrax spacers with them. Now run 1.75" Bora spacers since september, still no issues. No BMC.

Any reduction ride control when cornering?
This is the exact setup I'll be running...hopefully soon. Just waiting on the coach builder kit and tires. There has been some major push back on mounting 35x12.5 tire from multiple tire shops, and really they always circle back around to the 8" wide wheel doesn't meet the minimum manufacturer's width of 8.5". I know a lot of people running these sizes on tacoma's with no issue, but wanted to get some feedback from the Tundra crowd.

Have you noticed any reduction in your tires responsiveness during daily driving?

Yeah, Discount Tire refused to mount them on the stock 18x8 wheel but I went to my local tire guy I've been using for 30 years and gave him the business instead. He matched DT's price for the Toyo's and said he mounts
them on that size rims a lot with no issues and warranties the tires. Like the other poster said I run mine at around 35 psi and have a flat contact patch. I've only got about 2,500 miles on them so far but no undue wear or issues at this point.

Right on! That's a good looking truck! What load rating tire are you running? D or F? I would imagine this plays a role in determining an optimal tire pressure level.

What are the legal/liability ramifications of putting a 12.5 inch tire on an 8 inch wheel? Tires have specific wheel width specifications, and most 12.5 inch tires specify a rim wider than 8 inches. I’ve heard of tire shops and dealerships refusing to go against those specs.

Have same truck and considering 35's next. What have you done to your truck? I've done a Westcott kit only, but it seems a 12.50 tire will be within 1mm of my UCA and I'm not a fan of spacers.

I have a Coachbuilder Pro kit, 1.25" Bora spacers, bumper shims, and did a BMC. No trimming of the plastic wheel well liners, just a little heat gun work in one spot, removed front mud flaps.

I see so many threads about running 35’s on stock TRD wheels and I am not very clear whether or not people run into any issues. So, can we run 35’s on TRD Pro stock wheels without lifting or any modifications?

    Thanks.

IMHO. With zero modifications, bone stock, MOST truly 35 inch tall tires on stock TRD wheels with stock offset, are gonna rub somewhere. It's usually the width of the tire that gets you. Just my $.02, I'm sure there will be some here who will disagree. Let the flaming begin.

I have 285 75 18 wheels on the trd pro bbs wheels with trd pro shocks. Those are 35.1” diameter with 11.5” tire width and those do slightly rub. Not in the front mud flap area, but on the rear. No wheels spacers or any other modifications.

I agree, I think the answer is NO...35’s will not work on a TRD Pro without other modifications.

With that being said, will a lift clear 35’s for no rubbing or anything else? If so, how much lift? Thanks.

I think it's really more of a problem with the stock wheel offset and not necessarily lift height. There can be clearance issues with the UCA's, skid plate, etc. because of the stock offset. Then if you run spacers to clear those you can run into clearance issues with the Body Mount, front bumper and the plastic wheel liners. The problems can vary with different brand and size tire combinations. I was strictly referring to 35x12.5r18 size as that was the topic of this thread and what I have installed on my truck. After I installed the Coachbuilder Pro kit I ran with the stock Michelin LTX's for about a week while I was waiting for the Toyo's to come in. When I got them mounted I had my tire guy bolt them on before I installed the Bora spacers just to see if they would clear, as I'm not wild about running spacers and would rather not if unnecessary. The tires definitely rubbed up front without the spacers, and that is with the extra 2" or so lift the Coachbuilder kit provides over the stock TRD Pro height. I probably could have cleared the body mount but it was close as were the UCA's, the Pro skid plate was not an issue on mine nor did I have any clearance issues in the rear. I immediately installed the 1.25" Bora spacers and everything cleared fine except for one small rub on the forward inner edge of the wheel liner at full lock on the drivers side. I took care of that with a heat gun and rolled it out concave with a basketball and I have plenty of clearance now. I've taken the truck out and flexed it on moderate trails and dunes and have no issues, but definitely not rock climbing or anything extreme. That's all I can tell you in regards to your question about lift versus clearance with this size Toyo tire on stock TRD Pro rims. Hope that helps you out.
