I haven't found much info on this. The reason I am posting here is because I need help. My passenger side airbag light will say off even when someone 170lbs is sitting there also confirmed that the seatbelt sensor doesnt work either when the seatbelt is unbuckled

I did some more trouble shooting I replaced this part20191223_171036.jpg

It did not fix the problem. I also just unplugged the seat belt latch plug underneath the seat to just see what would happen and when I do that the seat belt light will come on and flash while the airbag off light is still on while sitting in the seat with or without the seat belt on

If anyone has this problem in the future I have resolved it. I ordered a new seat belt latch for the passenger side for $45 OEM Toyota part uninstalled the seat and installed the new seat belt latch reinstalled everything now the airbag ON light comes on when someone is sitting there and the seat belt light is also working. Going to return the Occupant Detection Sensor and this fix will have cost me only $45

Does anyone have a tutorial for replacing the seat belt?

It looks like I need to pull the whole seat to change the belt. Is there any concern about the airbag system? I know that if you do anything with it, you're supposed to disconnect the battery and let any residual charge dissipate.

I discontented the battery and unplug all the sensors under the seat and replaced my seat belt buckle. It did not fix my problem of the air bag light or the pressure sensor

The air bag system has a lot of different parts and sensors and supposedly you’d only want to have it serviced by Toyota. I googled a whole bunch of different thing about the Tundra but found something about Camrys that the seat belt buckle has gone bad and caused the air bag light problem on the passenger side which was my exact problem. I first tried the sensor box located under the seat and did not fix the issue then tried the seat belt buckle and it fixed it so I returned the sensor box. I disconnected the battery and I think the sensor under the seat then removed the seat and replaced the buckle. It’s very easy and you can clean when you do it also you don’t even need to take the whole seat out after you remove the 4 bolts. It was a good guess for me too because that buckle was all sticky from something probably spilled in it. Hopefully you can figure it out without too much issue.

I said that I'm replacing the seat belt, but I'm actually just planning to replace the seat belt receptacle, a.k.a., buckle.

That's discouraging. I'm hoping that this fixes my issue with the passenger occupancy sensor. The reason that I think that it will is that I do not see a dash light even if neither adult in the front seats is buckled. The chime can be turned off, but not the dash light. That tells me that the previous owner did the seat belt latch mod in which a spring is removed from the buckle. Whether this is the reason that my truck does not register a passenger, though, is purely theory at this point.

    Your experience makes me optimistic!

Great idea - I didn't think of that. I'll be sure to have some supplies handy.

Are you getting any warning lights on your dash - seat belts or airbags?

The problem that Punisher17 and I are having involves absolutely no dash lights or warning codes. As far as the truck is concerned, everything is fine and both seat belts are buckled. This is because the previous owner removed a spring to silence the buzzer. Somehow, though, this modification interferes with the passenger occupancy sensor (or, as I prefer to call it, the POS) and the computer simply will not recognize a passenger in the front seat.

I'm sorry to hear about your problem. It seems to be more involved and may put you at the mercy of a dealership, which is generally painfully expensive.

I have both passanger seat belt and the passanger air bag stays off all the time it is most likely the 300 dollar pressure sensor in the passanger seat. Whice it has been that way for 150000 miles now.
