    I'm looking at installing the spidertrax 1.25in wheel spacers. The question is, if installed correctly, torqued every 3k miles, are they reliable? would there be any damage to the wheel bearings/suspension, alignment and so forth?

    I have heard this comments, but have mine on for a while now with no issues. I don’t re-torque every 3k but rather Check every 5k for tire rotation. When the mood hits me and I need new rubber, I will swap for different rims with proper offset.

    6 months on mine with daily driving and off-roading. No issues. Never had any of the bolts be out of spec from original torque setting + Loctite. Zero vibration as well. Very happy with mine.

    I have had mine on for 5 months, have done some offroading, and have not had any issues. I did about 100 ft/lb of torque aand loctite. So far so good. I have talked with people who have had them on for over 100k miles and/or for several years without issues. They have held up perfectly.

    I tend to load my bed daily, appx 300-800lbs, sometimes I max out the payload. Would the added weight add too much stress on the rear?

    Hi guys, I am looking to buy some 1.5" wheel spacers. It seems as a good offset. Would the additional 1/4” affect tire rubbing when taking full turns? Or it's 1.25" the magic number without doing any other mods? I have seen a few videos of people having issues with rubbing but no mention of what type of offset they were using.

    Mine have been on for over a year and a half now with no issues. I checked their torque after a couple trips on the truck, then rechecked them after 6 months. Nothing had come loose at all

    Picture doing two types of push ups. First push up is standard. Second push up is with Hands spread wide.

    Same weight, but which one is more difficult and straining on the shoulders?

    If you are using stock wheels stick with the 1.25. Spidertrax or Bora only.

    I ran Spidertrax 1.25” spacers for over 5 years on my ‘07 4Runner and never a moments problem. However, I think these did contribute to early bearing failure on my ‘02 4Runner which has a weaker suspension. Given the stronger suspension systems on the Tundras, I’d be very surprised if anyone would have any problems with the 1.25” spacers.
    Concerning the rubbing, I think it’s basic geometry that this will get worse the thicker wheel spacers you use.

    Thanks guys. I'll look for the 1-1/4” spacers. Does anyone has pictures before and after with the 1-1/4" offset?

    My issue with spacers is that most chain tire shops won't work on your vehicle if it has spacers. If you're out on a road trip and have a tire or wheel issue, you're stuck trying to find some small mom and pop tire shop. That can be difficult on the weekends.

    I've only used Discount Tire but they have never refused to work on my vehicles because of the spacers and never even said anything about them. Its the first time I've heard of this problem.

    Here's a few pics on my Tundra with Cooper 295/70 R18 AT3 XLTs on OR wheels and after the 1.25" spacers. The outside edge of tread is almost even with the body panels. You'll have to imagine the tread edge being 1.25" inside the side panel edge before. Of course, the tire side wall still protrudes a bit. For sure, I think wheel spacers improve the stance and appearance of the truck. However, I'm moving to BORA 1" spacers (I would go less, but the rear studs will protrude with 0.75" spacers) and possibly small flares to help keep the side of the truck cleaner - especially in rainy weather.

    Wasn't my experience. This was a while ago, but I was turned away for a tire repair because of spacers at Discount. They said they would work on it, but would remove the spacers to mount the wheels. No dice at the time due to aftermarket Endless brakes. Ended up taking the wheel off down the block, walking the individual wheel and tire to Discount and reversed the process after repair was complete. This was about 2013.

    Seems unusual, but guess DT may have different policies depending on the store and location. Guess it's best to call ahead to be sure the tire store will work with the spacers - I know mine will.
    Best.

    Thanks for the pics. Did you have any issues with installing 1.25" spacers and OEM wheel hub studs in terms of length? I'm getting ready to install new hub assemblies along with spacers and worried there won't be enough thread on the hub studs to get a good grab on the spacer. Thanks.

    The wheel spacers are counter-sunk for the mounting nuts so there's plenty of stud length available for mounting. I don't think you have to worry about the studs being too short, but as I mentioned, I think a 1" spacer is as thin as you could go without the rear hub studs protruding into the wheel assy. Here's a pic. of my 1.25" spacer installation:

    Did you guys torque your Spidertrax spacers down to 130 ft-lb? Thanks!

    Mine look like Spidertrax but are actually KSPs. I’ll have to check the torque spec but I don’t recall it being that high. Too many beers ago to remember the torque spec on the Spidertrax on my ‘07 4Runner but I do recall using the locktite supplied.
    Post Edit: Lb-Ft torque per lug diameter
    7/16” = 55-65
    1/2” = 75-85
    9/16” = 95-115
    12mm = 72-80
    14mm = 85-95

    It seems high to me as well, but the instructions that came with the spacers calls for 130 ft-lb.
