I have one of these on my 2015 CM, honest review here, the box design is good but buyer beware, they advertise a serviceable air filter with a limited lifetime warranty, well, that's not what I got, I got a regular cloth filter and when I reached out to them they said that serviceable means to vacuum it out then once it is too dirty for a vacuum cleaning then I must buy a new one, a very expensive CAI for a filter that cannot be washed. I asked to use the lifetime warranty as the filter is no longer usable because it is dirty and they stated the warranty only covers manufacture defects. Pretty shitty customer service and advertising. The attached pictures shows the cloth filter that came with it(DOWNEY), the picture with 2 filters is the AFE one that I purchased from Amazon to replace their shitty NON SERVICEABLE filter. As for performance I noticed no great improvement or MPG change. Do the SABM to your factory box, drop in a good air filter and save yourself $400.

Wow I was going to get one but got the Rough Country instead, they have a good lifetime time warranty. The 1/8" hose fitting broke on me and instead of sending me another fitting they sent me a whole new CAI kit. :eek2: Replacing fittings with brass.

Yep, I took the SABM kit out of my 2013 4.6 before I sold it. I have not put it in the 2020 yet.

Give Keith Carty of Dirty Deeds Industries a call at 760-877-4234. Keith is a wealth of knowledge on these trucks and has tried everything out there. He can probably give you some great suggestions on which CAI are worth it and which ones to stay away from.

Which AFE filter did you get? Disappointing to hear that about the filters but I like mine otherwise.

That's interesting. My Stillen unit came with a K&N oiled filter. Did you order direct from Stillen or from an outside retailer? Was it Stillen that told you to pound sand?

Yes, I ordered directly from Stillen, and they sent me the crappy replaceable Downey filter. I contacted Stillen and they said that they "upgraded from K&N to Downey" and when the filter gets dirty to vacuum it out and once it gets too dirty for a vacuum cleaning to throw it away. On their web site it states a limited lifetime warranty on the filter itself, so I guess that means until it gets too dirty to vacuum.

They might have moved to a non oiled air filter due to the MAF sensor. People tend to over oil K&N's which can leave a coating through the intake and mess with the MAF's readings.

That is a poor excuse from them. They should back up their product better.

They advertise a non oiled version and oiled, I went with non oiled, but the filter says serviceable with a lifetime warranty, serviceable with a lifetime warranty means washable just like AFE's and many other brand. Pay $400 for a CAI it should have the correct filter. Correct me if I am wrong

If that is the wording then it sounds like they need to replace the filter when needed. I have never seen a non oiled air filter, paper, that can be cleaned and reused.

I honestly did not know about the Pro Dry until now. It does say that it is recommended for "light offroad use". I am not sure that I would run it in Arizona. Does anyone have experience with this filter line in dry dusty conditions?

Good morning All, new to this... I bought a stillen cai for my 2015 tundra, had it installed n worked great, but I guess I was hoping for a throaty sound but it won’t give it to you since the box is enclosed. I took off the lid to the box n I have a mean throaty sound to it now, but I’m wondering if that’ll affect anything else ?? I hope my question makes some sense, thanks guys.

Taking off the lid brings it closer to the AFE Momentum GT or S&B (with the plug removed).

The air is filtered all the same, it’s just that it’s gonna be pulling some warmer air from the engine bay now.

S&B recommends to insert the plug during the warmer months (>70°F?) but other intakes like the Momentum and even the K&N’s pull warmer air year-round.

I know if defeats the purpose of getting the Stillen in the first place but I’d be lying if I said I’m not thinking of removing my lid during these cold months, lol.

I was in the same boat last summer when I got the intake. I wound up ordering a custom size AFE Pro Dry filter for mine as well.
