Are the black front bumper end caps on the work truck editions plastic or are my eyes just bad?

I have been looking around and see metal chrome ones and plastic ones from parts sales places.

It looks like the black ones on the work trucks are plastic? Can anyone confirm this?

Are the painted ones on Platinum metal or plastic?

Trying to figure out how to get a set of metal ones without sensors to paint white with my truck.

The trim levels that include parking sensors will have plastic bumper ends. Apparently the metal bumper would throw the sensors off.

Trim levels without sensors have steel bumper ends that are chromed.

this is how I understand it anyway.

Mine are metal, with sensors. I think it has to do with if they come painted or not from the factory. Painted or lower trim model will be plastic.

I feel like this is correct. I bought a bumper off a work truck and I think the end caps are black plastic. (It doesn't even have fog lights, just the cover panel). Once it gets here I will know for sure.

I know I want painted to match bumper caps. Something in me would prefer metal painted ones but I guess Toyota decided it was fine to put painted plastic ones on its top tier trucks.

The SR has resin ends, my TRD OR had metal chrome. Same fit, interchangable. I replaced my chrome with OEM resin ones on that I had painted inferno at a local collision shop. They fit and function exactly the same.
From what Ive been told the TRD Pros had resin but cant confirm.
