I’m kind of losing things to do on my 2015. I was wondering if anybody knows if the power tailgate lock would work on a 2015 platinum? They sell it through Sparks Parts for about $140. I’ve watched YouTube videos of guys installing it in 2019‘s. But was unsure on earlier models if it still has the same plug-in capability on the passenger side foot kicker? I also have a aftermarket compustar remote starter/ door unlock. Thanks.

I put an older P'nL kit on my 2020 with no issues, I just needed to find the updated corresponding wires. If you are talking about the OEM kit there are likely to be some wiring differences as this kit uses a harness, if you know the kit's part # you can quickly check it's compatibility.

The Toyota kit for 2019 and above will work on 2014+. Confirmed. I just installed this morning. Piece of cake.

Nice! Where did you get the kit? What year is your truck? Thanks again

You can order the individual parts for about a total of $50.00 bucks and DIY. Not hard at all.

I have a 2015 platinum crew max with a remote start which has the aftermarket door unlock/remote start fob replacing the the original Toyota one. Do you think it should still be plug and play with the aftermarket remote start/door unlock?

Are you getting the individual parts from Toyota? Do you have the part numbers?

I'm almost certain he is talking about a DIY fabrication job. Some posted the write up for it here on the forums.

The Toyota kit is the way to go, plug and play, and quieter than other options.

Pop n' Lock is the way to go good sir. There is no other sounds as exhilarating as the sounds of people .....I mean the sound of the lock securing the tail gate! <THUNK!>

I just ordered the one that looks like Toyota OEM part that the other guy left the link for. I was reading the pop in lock reviews saying some thing in the mechanism when it is out and it’s hard to open when you try to remotely unlock it. Not sure if that’s true or not but I figured I’d try the OEM one.

I bought this and just had it installed by my trusted audio tech here in Massachusetts and it cost me about $80. Yes I know I could’ve done it myself but the unpredictable New England weather and my lack of patience had me giving this guy work. The thing is awesome and works like a charm in my 2015 tundra. One of my biggest fears was having walked to my truck and find someone stole my tailgate or my belongings inside. Many thanks my friend!
