Hello all I’ve seen these tires and positive reviews. My current goal is 315/70r17 in these on rock warriors when my falken shut the bed someday in the far (year or two) future. Let’s start talking about this cool newish rubber option. Deep tread, open outer tread blocks, irregular center treads, extra rubber in the sidewall, three peak, mileage warranty, light weight for the size and rating, and squiggle sipes to the core. Help me decide if these tires are as good as they seem. It’s also a good price these days compared to the Overseas competition. @RJVA D9207A31-B341-4B10-90CF-97BDD4489EC5.jpg

I looked hard at these. They are lightest in their class (even lighter than Cooper AT3 and Toyo AT3). I was only turned off due to the lack of reviews (even though everything I found was positive). The only other thing to consider is that they come in E rating in the size you want (I am looking at the same size when I upgrade). I currently have E rated tires that ride pretty rough so I will be looking at D or C.

I’ve got these tires and can say I’m super pleased. Not very loud on the road and definitely aggressive enough for winter driving in the upper Midwest. Triple peak rating does great in the snow. I’m running 275/70 on my 20s on a 19 tundra with king suspension. Mounted them white lettering in.

Firestone has upped their game in recent years. On the 2nd set for my wife's MDX, they have been great tires. Not thrilled with the looks of these though...

    You just wait
I don't know anything about those tires, but all the criteria you listed apply to these too ( not trying to persuade you away from buying them, just showing you another option )

Yes I’ve seen these, and they look good too. They just don’t seem to come up on my discount tire or tire rack searches. May need to search other places for the specs of those. Not quite over Kenda as a less quality mountain bike tire either, though they had their day before my time so I hear.

I’m looking for E-rating as I’m a little over payload at times.

It’s a Chinese company and tire. All the reason not to buy them. There are plenty of superior tires available to stay away from Chinese stuff when it is not the only option.

And I haven’t checked prices of the Kenda but other Asian imported tires have really gone up in price (Falken). One reason why I was looking at these Firestone is they’re honestly a pretty good price for what they are in that size category. Though I know Firestone doesn’t have a stellar reputation these caught my eye despite my bias. I’ll have a couple of years to watch the reviews on these. If you have pics and experiences please post em up! If you’re on the fence buy them and be our test mule :)

those firestones look nice, good specs too. I'm looking at those, the Cooper XLTs, and the Toyo AT 3's. They're all relatively light, 3 peak snowflake rated, and have a mileage warranty. Keep going back to the XLTs as theyre rated for 60k miles (50k for the others) and are a fair bit cheaper, especially compared to the toyos..

I'm happy with mine, 275/70/17. Not enough time to review them, maybe 100 road miles.

    Any updates on this tire?

I've been researching hard the last few days and I'm really liking these. I'm also looking at the LT315/70R17 size. Looks like a great option for it's size comparing specs to similar sized tires. According to Tire Racks listed specs, it's 34.4" x 12.7" on a 9.5" wide wheel. Putting it on a 9" wide wheel will change the section width to 12.5". They have the tread width listed at 9.2", so that should hopefully make it easier to fit our tundra's. Also only listed at 60 lbs, which is lower than most of the competition.

I plan on installing the Bilstein 6112's on the front at 1.3" or 1.9". The wheels are Fuel Beast 17x9 +20mm. I currently have the Sumitomo Encounter AT P285/70R17's. I've only put 17k miles on them over the last 4 years, but itching to put some bigger tires on after leveling.

Hoping to see some more pics of these on Tundra's!
