Just wondering what would be a good start to add a few ponies to my 2017 TRD. It is bone stock and I have only owned it for 6 months.

Check the build link in my signature.
I’m not an expert, but I’m pretty sure the only true way to get real increases is to pick up a S/C and then start playing.

    Agreed

    S/C = supercharger

Supercharger will get the most power, but very expensive
Long tube headers and dual exhaust will get some real nice gains - also very expensive (and not sure about emissions)

A nice catback (like a BAMuffler) will get you around 3 to 10 hp and more aggressive sound, but they list at around $950 - but there's usually group buys on this site which will save you some $ - plus they're great people to deal with.

    Can't speak to tunes.

40 hp from these trucks won't come cheap.

Long tube headers with a custom @dirtydeeds exhaust, and a DAP tune... A drop-in Pro Dry S filter by aFe is a good mod once the exhaust is uncorked.

The engine will be louder and your HP will be increased by 40 when you run premium fuel... 420 HP is not a bad number for this struck. Speak with Keith about reducing the volume without robbing HP, ask him about cross-over pipes. My best guess at the cost including professional header / exhaust installation, about $3,000 on the low end.

Wish I would went the s/c’d route I spent almost 4K on my exhaust setup. Jba long tubes, mid pipes with cats, dirty deeds 24x6 mufflers, factory trd dual tail pipes plus installation costs. More horsepower for your buck with the supercharger

Now compare that HP gained per dollar spent with the HP gain per dollar spent on a turn key SC, what is the best bang for your buck?

Sound amazing! You have to hear it I couldn’t give it Justice trying to describe it! Wish it was louder when just cruising but it nasty when I get on it. Keith said my system gives me 70 pounds of torque and 43 HP’s to the whelels

    Especially when not installing yourself.

I have approx $2500 in my full exhaust setup but many hours of labor invested. Intake mods account for about $350 and everything should have landed me right at 70 ish HP / 90 ish TQ if not more.

I still dont fancy a SC due to the additional mods needed to retain OEM reliability but like hearing about the high HP #'s some put down with our Japanese Small Block. My truck is light so dont need much to toss it around and also still waiting for OV tune to improve it further.

450 HP is just about perfect for a daily driver 4X2 RCSB, and IMO that much torque demands a mechanical LSD.

Agree, I cant imagine 730hp in an RCSB without AWD. "Nuckin Futz" comes to mind
