I have an ARE camper top for my 2004 Double cab Limited. I want to replace it with something else. I’d like to sell it but wow... I have no idea what it’s worth. I have checked local used market and didn’t come up with much to compare. The camper top is in decent shape. Clear coat is coming off the top in places, door pistons need replacing, and the handle is a bit janky. Hey, it’s 15 years old. I do remember that it is a z series topper. Just wondering if I could get any advice for a fair price. New ones are about $2800, but I don’t think that this compares since it’s 15 years old. I’d like to post out a fair price. Anyway thanks for the time.

I sold the camper top that was on my 06 DC in the classified section on this website with quickness. I sold it for $450. The person that bought drove about 600 miles round trip to pick it up and the gray camper top did not match his white tundra. Buyer advised he had been looking for a used one for about 5 months. Used camper tops for the DC Tundra are hard to find.

I think a fair price for a Buyer and the fair price for a Seller might well be two different numbers too.

I sold mine for $675 and it was in much better condition...it was a basic Leer shell but the paint was shiny.

I paid $100 for this one last year and it has Windoors and all work.
A used Shell is worth what someone will pay you for it.

I give $900 for my mine. It’s a leer 100 series I think. Dude was asking $1200. Up to that point I hadn’t seen any pop up for sale for a double cab. It came with the hardware and stuff to wire to the door locks if I wanted too. Paint was decent with some clear peeling. Color doesn’t match truck.

Might have overpaid but I was tired of looking

That's not necessarily true. My topper was made for a double cab but works on my access cab. But I agree they are getting pretty rare at this point.

I paid $400 for mine for a topper store. He had it for a long time and wanted to get rid of it because it only fit first gens. He acted like it was a bad thing lol.

In my neck of the woods, the my are for sale for $300-$700. My cap was $500 so I came out a little ahead.

Hmm... seems to me that ac and dc are interchangeable. I have an ac shell and @FirstGenVol has a dc shell

The AC topper will over hang about 1/2”-1” on a DC depending on brand. The DC topper on a AC will be the opposite.

The other issue is the gap on the front wheel well. Maybe that's what you mean? That's why I put that pipe insulation there to try and fill the gap. But it is slightly taller than my cab too.

I was referring to the rear by the tailgate. I used to have pictures of it how it fit on each one but can’t find them.

I am seeking a topper for my AC, what is the ideal length I need to be looking for? Do our trucks share bed sizes with any domestic trucks?

Here is the overhang of an AC shell on my DC. Literally everything else is snug as shit.

Fortunately/Unfortunately, only first Gen Tundra toppers will fit. They do not share the same bed dimensions with any one else.

I think it’s more of a difference of radius on the bed because the rubber glass threshold fits snugly against the tailgate.

I tried 3 different toppers where I had just bought mine all used and the leer access and double cab where the same size not more than a 1/4” different the ARE fit well also but it was for a double cab I when with a leer that didn’t match due to the front widow folded down letting me be able to crawl into the truck from the bed with cab window down I will be painting it black as soon as the weather warms up they had 4 more with prices from 350 to 850 it was in York pa hope that helps

Thanks for the advice. I think that I have a buyer and this will help me come to a good price.
