Forgive the ignorance, but just want to know the proper etiquette when (I finally get my truck and) I am passing an eye catching Tundra in the PNW or anywhere I'm travelling. Is there any acknowledgment?

Wranglers wave to each other, modified Cherokees wave to each other, Harleys acknowledge each other (they did back East)...I'm sure there are others.

So do we wave, nod, tip a hat, flare a nostril, or just drool out the window as they drive by?

I can't take credit. I had never seen it until members of this forum showed it to me. Good people here.

For Toyota people...the wave is just awkward.

This is for the Jeep mall crawlers...and they are weird.

Again, please don’t wave at me, I’ll think I left the tailgate down again and pull over for no reason.

I don’t want to be in the “wave” category but I’ve been guilty of an over enthusiastic peace sign or aggressive head nod when I see a cool rig...
But seriously, how can you help yourself...

What I notice down here is that if you have the slightest lift or wheels and tires, they always look at your front suspension to see what you have. I also notice that I haven't seen anyone else locally with a Tundras.com sticker or Morimoto XB's.

Where I live (Missouri), truck guys in general do the index finger raise. Most of the Tundras I've seen either do the head nod or the 'sup' head raise. LOL

I used to wonder if most of it was me looking for it, until my wife told me the other day "No one ever waved or gave me a head nod or anything - UNTIL you got your Tundra. It's definitely a community." :)

I live in the country. Everyone waves at everyone. I have noticed as soon as you get to the streets with street lights it stops.

Check the build link in my signature.
Where I grew up it was a finger or two raised off the steering wheel. It had nothing to do with what you were driving - just a friendly HI to the incoming driver. I still find myself doing that when I get into the backroads and away from the highway traffic. If it’s someone who’s got a nice truck and make eye contact, or who I catch ogling at mine, I’ll throw a shaka sign.

But I don’t see any reason to be tossing up contorted hand signs like we’re gangsta or something.
