Hey guys, new here in the Toyota world, came from a heavily modded Nissan Xterra a few months ago...anyway...

New-to-me 2018 SR5 Tundra with aftermarket wheels and 295/70-18 tires. When I turn on the truck, the light blinks for a little while and then stays solid. Figuring I had a bad sensor, and needing new tires, I went to Discount Tire and got new rubbers put on and they reset the sensors for me..all was good for about 20 minutes into my drive home, then flashing again and then solid after a few seconds. Now it's back to flashing on start up, and solid after a few seconds. If I try and pull up the tire pressure's on my dash, it doesn't display a pressure for any tire. It also reads "Tire Pressure Warning System Malfunction" or something of that nature.

Is there a module in the truck that could be bad? Are all of my sensors bad? I'm not sure where to start....Any ideas???

Aftermarket halo headlights with HID, various LED bulb replacements. 17" Fuel Blitz wheels with some 33" Nitto terra grapplers. Hoodscoop, nfab nerfbars, Bushwacker flares. No-name aftermarket grille, led fender extensions. Black Horse bambi-basher. Various offroad lights.
They might have put some junk tpm sensors on your aftermarket wheels. Some of the wheel shops are... less than gentle when changing the rubber on the wheels, tpms takes a hit, toss in a cheap Chinese replacement. Just a thought.

Probably aftermarket sensors that never worked from the start.

Good luck getting it sorted. Had to go back to Discount a few times and it still does what yours is doing. I have basically given up on the whole thing and have gone back to doing it the right way....checking my tire pressures manually from time to time and looking at my tires before driving. The whole system is so temperamental and Toyotas registration procedure in the manual to remedy it is just insane. Have not been able to get it to work. Discount has checked the sensors multiple times and all the sensors are good. I'm done and will eventually put a piece of black tape over the stupid tire warning light.

Personally, I'd at least take it to a toyota dealer and let them look at it before throwing in the towel. Also, maybe quit going to that Discount tire?

I hear you and you are right, I could pay for the dealer to fix it....but...I took it in for the free 10,000 mile oil change and inspection. Dealer never said a word about it, didn't fix it or address it, and then over filled the motor with oil. It is what it is and honestly I don't even notice the light being on anymore. Just staying old school.

Sucks to here that. Hate to see any Tundie running at less than optimum :(. Some dealerships are trash, but if you can find one with some integrity, might be worth your trouble. Always good to know where a reliable mechanic can be found.
