Yes 6/17. Will be interesting to learn what will be revealed to the unwashed masses.

This is confirmed? I've seen the date floating around but not too much factual info per se.

Fair enough. If I could I would only drive Toyota(1st Gen Tacoma), but they don’t offer an HD class and GM seems to be treating me right so far. I gave ford and dodge a chance and they both failed for me personally.

Eh...Not a chance! I’ve seen first hand just how trustworthy Ford is. Yes, they do put out frequent new generations. However, it’s at the expense of the public to “beta test” each one. Not a philosophy I subscribe to.

On one of Automotive Press videos he mentioned Lunar Rock would be dropped down to the other models...as they have done in the past for other exclusive TRD Pro colors (Army Green & Cement come to mind) from the year before.
I'm hoping the Platinum line would...

Out of curiosity, what model Fords are these? Our work has about 75 Fords (mix of F150s, F250s and Transits) and we have maybe 1 breakdown a month its mostly the transit vans. Now they have plenty of fit and finish issues but these are work trucks that get severely abused and neglected so its kind of mute point after a month in the field. We have some F150s and F250s that are still on the original engine and trans at over 200k miles so I don't believe they are complete crap.

If it weren't for my TT I'd trade my tundra on one of those 4runners right now and supercharge it.

I miss my trail premium I had every day

    A bunch
Mostly gas F250s and F350s, with some F150s sprinkled in. Couple common problems are fuel pump - takes 10-15 seconds of cranking to start when engine is warm - and 4x4 vacuum tubes freeze meaning 4x4 has to be manually engaged. With the Sync 3 radio they seemed to have fixed the radio resetting, don't hear of that much on the new trucks.

Very rare now to have a truck leave someone stranded now which is definitely an improvement, and it's mostly DEF related that are the main 'need to fix ASAP' issue - and which manufacturer doesn't have that issue, definitely not a Ford thing. I just find it super annoying to have to drop off the truck every shift for something (mostly small things, but I want everything to work and not deal with it), just once I would like to take the truck to the office parking lot and not the shop.

Yes they do have some electrical bugs. My own personal F250 had the radio replaced twice. While not a show stopper it was annoying

That additional luxury trim above platinum does not surprise me, thats the way they are going to raise the price across the board on the new Tundra, It wouldn't surprise me if the new entry price was 50K

No chance. They’d lose so much business if that was the entry price.

Is the dealer review online somewhere? Will it be on Toyota’s site or is it on a special dealership basis? Would like to watch this info reveal.

I would think the leak factor will be high once dealers get ahold of it.

After all the suspense and teasers, I'll be super disappointed if they release something mediocre.

Waiting for the new Tundra is extremely irritating. Quite a few potential buyers chose to give up and purchase another Make. I am concerned the interest rate will be significantly higher by the time the Tundra is available to be purchased. Toyota needs to get their shit together. They have had what, 14 or 15 years to do it.

. Speculation is that it's the TTV6 and a hybrid version of the TTV6. If it is this...I'm stoked, because my 5.7L will continue to command premium prices for a long time.

Someone should have just sat their marketing group down and said “stop, just stop”. Whatever they’re about to release they’re not reinventing the wheel. It’s been done in some form or fashion before. At this point they’re just pissing off loyal customers who pride themselves on driving Toyota’s and based on past releases could have reasonably expected to hear something 4 months ago. They’ll still get 95% of those people to buy the darn truck, maybe myself included over the F250 tremor I have ordered. Considering that’s the case, just stop all this teaser nonsense and just give us something to look forward to. Just frickin stop with the BS.

I honestly agree with Toyota 5,000% on how they are handling it.....

Sort of like my wife back in college, the longer she made me wait the more I wanted it! J/k!

Ask yourself this.... What is more embarrassing?

    1. Being a few months late in unveiling a new model year.

    2. Unveiling a completely new platform, first in 14 years and having no inventory to sell when released.

#2 would be much more detrimental to the brand and sales! If I was Toyota, I would produce very little 2021 models. Meanwhile, I would be stockpiling silicone chips. Once they switch over the dyes for the new 2022 model, I can run full bore with the goal of having dealer showroom floors stocked once it starts shipping to dealers. This alone is something the big 3 can't do right now due to chip shortage. Toyota will have inventory and by process of elimination, will pickup and sell to demographics they have not in the past just by having available inventory.

Toyota is probably going to sell 100,000-120,000 of the new truck. This is about 30,000 per quarter. Let's say they switch over to the new model in July. This gives them 3 months to build units for a late 2021 release.

This is all assuming they have stockpiled and accounted for the microchips needed.....

It is going to be a good solid 12 months before chips become more available and prices come down to even somewhat normal prices.
