I have a 1794 and I have come to like the look of the chrome. What’s the best product to use on it? It looks like the grill is plastic? And the front bumper is metal. Mirror caps also plastic?
I won’t be getting rid of it, so I need something to keep it nice.

With the exception of the bumpers, I believe all of the 'chrome' is plastic....the door handles, mirror caps, grille. I do not know of a single product made for 'plastichrome' (as I call it).....just keep it clean and put a decent sealant on it. My wife had a Sequoia with the same amount of real chrome and plastichrome, and that's all I ever did with it.

    Truck looks great, btw

^This. I wouldn't treat the chrome any differently then the paint.

    I concur with everyone above…

I pretty much use Carpro Ech20 for waterless wash’s and as a quick detailer. CarPro and many other brands does leave bad streaks on chrome. After applying product of choice I find a little spritz of water and a micro fiber cloth makes the chrome perfect.

I really wouldn’t recommend steel wool. That chrome coating is rather thin and you will scratch it up

No offense intended but that is about the worst advice I have seen in weeks.

No offense taken. To each his own. I did own and operate 5 detail shops at one time and majority of body shops use this method to remove over spray from bumpers and grills

The "real" chrome on my bumpers had some light "haze" or "cloudiness" . Looked "normal" from 5 feet away, but get close & you could see haze.
Read though MSDS/SDS sheets for a few products to make sure there was no acid or alkali , and finally selected "Mothers Gold Chrome Polish # 05212".
Gently rubbed it in with soft cotton cloth (microfiber would work too), then hand-buffed with cotton, and the chrome sparkled even from close-up -- looks like a brand new mirror.
The Mothers chrome polish apparently contains a mild abrasive -- SDS sheet lists "Silica, amorphous, diatomaceous earth".
It's possible any mild or light polish would have worked equally well.

Now I need something to remove the light haze from the plastic chrome.

kstateskier above had great looking result using polishes or waxes intended from paint, so I'll VERY carefully try that on the palsti cchrome grill.

Aftermarket halo headlights with HID, various LED bulb replacements. 17" Fuel Blitz wheels with some 33" Nitto terra grapplers. Hoodscoop, nfab nerfbars, Bushwacker flares. No-name aftermarket grille, led fender extensions. Black Horse bambi-basher. Various offroad lights.
I'd actually try Hambone's advice. Chrome plating should be MUCH harder than steel wool. I imagine a fine steel wool would work a treat chrome and glass. Seriously, you scrape shit off your window with a razor, and thats a harder steel than steel wool. If I didn't hate chrome with a passion, I'd try it myself.

Actually, my rear bumper is still chrome (sigh), think I will give it a go.

Update: Didn't have any wax lying around, but have plenty of fine steel wool and glass cleaner.
    Glass: check, works good.
    Chrome: check, works good
PlastiChrome: check, no scratches (went gently here, theory vs reality and all that)

    Conclusion: Hambone1 +1 street credit
YMMV, try it in a out of the way spot and see for yourself

Thanks. Chews the bugs right off and leaves a fantastic shine. Windows, chrome, fake chrome...... And a lot faster than buffing polish

I use Simple Green on my 1794 chrome parts.

Works good and its cheap, just like my women.

Another +1 for Hambone1. I’ve been using steel wool on glass for years, really gets the baked-on bug guts off.

Be sure to use 0000 (quad-aught) steel wool.
