Thanks guys I just saw the 10in boss for under $400 and the reviews were good. Figured I’d ask if any one had experience with it. I’ll go the safe route and get the pioneer.

Boss is junk. Most of the reviews are probably fake anyway.

Well I found the reviews on crutchfield and IMO they are a pretty dependable site. I went ahead and ordered the pioneer though.

Completely off topic. When using your new stereo and decide to use navigation( given you used the web link maestro to retain factory use of things) does the navigation on the odometer still pop up when a turn is about to come up? I really like that feature hoping I’d be able to keep that some how.

Yes. As long as the new unit you bought has built in navigation.

I wouldnt rely on reviews from these companies. Most if not all of them are biased. They sell “brands”. All their reviews are selected. Also a poor quality products might be the best for someone. One good review doesnt mean anything to me. Find an unbiased review that compares specs and then make a decision.

Neither have wireless AA or Carplay, so I wouldn't buy either. But that's me. If I had to, it would be the pioneer.

Why Boss? Whats yr goal? Functions, quality, quantity, price, or maybe just a new HU? If its just the brand, then Pioneer

I purchased the BOSS Elite after walking into a high end stereo shop in my town (first time I hadn’t purchased an electronic online for a long time, but I needed an install as well) . The owner said that he had never seen a stereo with as good of build quality come out of BOSS. He said that he would have never recommended BOSS to anyone for the last 30 years until they decided to Release this new ELITE series of high end head units. My Bluetooth, CarPlay, Navigation and hookup to hi-res backup camera all work seamlessly. I love the upgrade to the First Gen Tundra. I can definitely recommend it.

BOSS is literally a pawn shop brand. It's the bottom of the barrel in every regard. Avoid at all costs.
